The real deal? Not a good start...
Of course we CANNOT jump to any conclusions but the 'proposed' takeover of Pompey by the Rob Lloyd led consortium has not exactly got off on the right foot has it?
Admin Andy was not happy that Lloyd went to the media, and some fans, before going to him and made that clear...
It was 'said' that Lloyd's group were going to come up with a £3m bond to give them a '14-day exclusivity agreement' by the end of Monday, although The News has reported that they have missed this deadline.
Michael Kiely, one of the administrators - and one that recently met with fans groups, including our own eastneydave and 'should' be doing so again this weekend - said: 'we held preliminary talks with Rob Lloyd on Monday evening. However, we requested proof of the deposit before we would progress matters any further.'
Also saying 'no, not yet,' when asked if the bond payment had been received yesterday as scheduled...
There could well be a valid reason for this, and as said 'jumping to conclusions' is not something we should do. Although, lets be honest it will be something that a lot will do.
Lets see what the explanation is before we go off half cocked though.
After all we ALL know how dramatic The News can be and how they love to sensationalise things, I guess when all is said and done they are a paper, this is what papers do - even if it is your local one and you would expect something more from them.
As said though it is not a good start is it? Especially if this main backer in the group is 'said' to have a fairly sizable swag bag...

I wouldnt be too worried just yet ol boy, it wouldnt be Pompey if there wasnt a delay, or another suprise!!! Fingers crossed some good news will come soon!!!

Think we need to give them time, we had a court appearanceyesterday and a PL meeting today. So dont be surprised if we hear more on this after that.

the point is though that it didn't happen (for whatever reason) as soon as they come up with a reason why it didn't happen we'll be none the wiser if it's a lie/excuse/truth. Which is the last thing we need after all of the last few months uncertainty. What we need is something to be able to hang our hat on and this could of been the start of that, instead it's another uncertainty.

There may or may not be any issue it's been a busy week for Admin so it's too early to worry. But things like this are why it wasn't smart for people like K
Mark M of the quay and others to meet with Lloyd in the first place, even worse to attemp to have the meeting in secret presuming they represent the majority of pompey fans.

Agree with russlem. I dont think it was wise to hold a meeting, as it automatically makes Rob Lloyd and co, look less than professional. Yet in reality, you have to blame Mr Muddy and his band of merry men for organising it in the first place. Leave things alone, dont meddle and mess it all up. Muddy and Co do NOT speak for the majority, just the sad minority that ring and text in daily.

Mark Mudie said on the Quay tonight that he 'knows for a fact' that this group have real money. I can't see how he can be so certain? He means they said they did. Still very wary of this group, and would like to see who some of the other - was it 12? - interested parties are.
