Striker Transfer Talk Heats Up

The transfer gossip has reached its normal peak and the window isnít even open until June the 1st.

Tottenham have spent the most money so far, spending over ten million pounds on a striker, which naturally means that Defoe is on his way to Pompey, of course!

Other Strikers that have been linked to Pompey and how likely I believe these to be;

Andy Johnson- (90%) I believe that there is a high chance of Pompey making a move for this player.

Benni McCarthy- (90%) With Harry watching him play this looks like a real possibility.

Lee Trundle (70%) I believe that this is less likely although Harry did say he would have a look in the summer, Lee hasnít impressed the second half of the season.

Defoe- (5%) I would have said 0% however Tottenham have just signed another striker, you never know!

My opinion- One of the above will sign (probably Andy or Benni) and one other mystery player from somewhere.

Redknapp said: "I've seen some good players, it's just whether we can get them and what the situation is, I need to talk to the chairman on that one.

"I don't want to name names. I could do without other clubs getting wind and coming in ahead of us.

"That's happened to me too many times in the past," he told the News.

One that can score 15 goals plus in a season would be nice.

Glad to see Pompey awake and well, AJ $7m not money well spent IMO, check out Liverpool "For Sale" in a couple of days. Harry is obviously on the hunt, Tunisia and 3 tip offs reported. I await with interest.

AJ well over rated for me! Marlon King would provide better value for money IMO!

why couldn't we have Defoe I know it's highly unlikely but think 1.Harry knows really him from his days at West Ham when he was a youth player. 2.It's only a short drive from where Defoe actualy lives. 3.He could be attracted by other big names e.g. D'Alessandro 4.We could offer him one hell of a big wage bill with our new backing. 5.He knows how passionate pompey fans are and would want to feel the sensation of scoring at the Fratton End in pompey colours.

if you go for marlon for a few million we would get a great sell on fee!

Linvoy. I think the £15 million transfer fee and £75,000 a week wages might be a good reason why we cant have defoe.

defoe is never worth 15m, and 75k a week he isnt on anything near that more like 30-40k

And FEn_100 I really don't think it would matter because we are the forth richest club in the prem

If Harry really wanted him that much he'd just get him

we won't pay 30k for DA why would we then say, "we'll increase our transfer budget for Defoe." You can't do that

I doubt defoe would even think twice about coming here. The only place he's ever likely to go, is one of the four sides above sp[uds in the table. Get real linvoy !! lolol :)
