Interest, but Admin Andy says 'show me the money!'

Interest, but Admin Andy says 'show me the money!'

Admin Andy has 'claimed' that there are as many as 12 parties interested in taking over Pompey now that we have entered into administration...

'Proof of funding' is the key issue that he is looking for here - basically SHOW US THE REAL MONEY is his message: 'we have received about a dozen expressions of interest.

'We need to sit down first and look at funding.'

Although 'rushing' to appoint a new owner is not something he says that he wants to do as he wants to make sure that they are the right owner in '3, 6 or 9-months' time - although personally I would be HOPING that we are looking at something more 'longer-term' than that to be honest: 'there is no timescale. We are not rushing. We want to do it properly.

'We need a measured approach.

'It's about putting the club in the hands of someone who is going to look after it and make sure it's in a good position in three, six, nine months' time.'

As said I think we would ALL want this new owner to be thinking more 'long-term' than just somewhere between 3-9-months, right!

Sky sports 'say' that he has already met with 2 of these interested parties who had shown him proof of funds but he had 'sent them away and asked them to bring him even more transparent proof'...

Lets just LET HIM DO HIS JOB and HOPE that we eventually do find someone genuine among this lot and we can FINALLY get our house in order and get things settled down so we can start enjoying it again without fear of what the next 'scandal' or 'bombshell' will be!

Hrrumph, so many parties, how come I wasn't invited!!! For me the parties don't have to be sports fans; I don't care if some multinational conglomerate wants to use Pompey as a tax write off. I think it is too much to ask for a buyer to come in with all the answers now, we don't even know what all the questions are. What i feel is important is that they produce a short term plan for the start of next season, and by start of that season that point a medium term (2-4 yr) program and within that program identify a milestone announcement of a long term (5-8) program.

Good for him. The next owners need to be seen to have the money they say they have and their integrity has to be spot on. Pompey can't be doing with any more dodgy geezers owning or claiming to own the club. There's got to be a whole new leaf turned over after all that's gone before.

On this day in history...26th June

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 26th June.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
