'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pride, passion and commitment

As a club we are playing for our future - and I guess the players for theirs. So weather this be more for pride or for the future most of all playing for pride is certainly something we started to regain, if we have lost this, at the weekend against Burnley.

The whole day out was fantastic - I really enjoyed this, fantastic stuff at a real 'old school' ground!

I thought that the players, and to be fair as they have on the whole all season really, gave it everything and I could not have asked them to give more really, although you could also sense that the 'pressure' had been lifted in a way.

In some ways I guess the same could have been said for the fans too...

Our 'performance' is rarely called into question is it, but I thought it was especially good on the day - we literally never gave in and the singing, even at half time, never stopped - magical! An 'Avram Grant's blue and white army' chant seemed to go on for at least 10 or 15-minutes, and at one point I thought this could go for the whole of the 2nd half!

I know that we have so much debt and what have you but how can no one not want to save this club - I cannot say 'it will' happen, but surely it will happen...right?

Lets keep doing this for the season and maybe cause a few worrying moments for those that may start looking nervously over their shoulders despite us being 14pts adrift when this points penalty is confirmed...

Most importantly lets do Birmingham in the cup next weekend and IF there is any justice in the world enable us to get AT LEAST one return to our second home of Wembley for a semi final, a final would be amazing, but I not greedy, much!

Although I BEG Pompey fans to go out and snap up the remaining tickets, Jesus this is an FA cup quarter finals we are talking about and apparently we had only sold some 8,000 tickets a couple of days ago, 8,000 for a quarter final of the best cup competition in the world is shocking.

In this day and age £25 is not too bad so every man/woman and his/her dog SHOULD be banging on the door, as I suspect they will come April 10th/11th if we make it back to Wembley - 250,000 'Pompey fans' turned up on the common the day after we won the cup in 2008, surely we can find 10% of them to turn up now FFS...

Pompeyrug i think you and i have called into question both palyers effort and performance recently; or do you mean the fans. My other point Rug is £25 per person soon racks up the cost if you have a couple of 16 year olds to pay for, and in difficult times this has to be accepted. But all that being said if we can we should be going to this game , as you say its a quater final and who knows we could be back at wembley and with players putting some effort in cos they are in the shop window you never know what might happen then; apart from Rocha being sent off

I hope you guys can win every game and stay up

Sod the cost for this time. Get to the cup game. Miss a league if you have to but get this game with Brum. I am taking my daughter again after seeing the home games with Cov & Sund. Even if we go down, to get to Wembley for a Semi & screaming the place down for what could be our last hurrah in a long time!!!

russellm: Speaking of Rocha - he's some sort of defensive oxymoron. His first red card is controversial because not just one, but two refereeing errors. His second card is controversial to me because of not just one, but two fouls that were both exactly the same: shoulder barging an attacker who beats him. It's like trying to consider whether exams are getting easier or students cleverer.

I'm going to see if I can get to the Brum game, rug has a point. Relatives of mine support them anyway.

Too right Rug, I know times are tight but surely as pointed out 10% of the fans that we clearly have 'when the good times are here' could fill the park every week. It was a great day up in Burnley and my throat has just about recovered now from all the singing. As a side note, how good was it to see Wilson come into his own, must be his best game I reckon and proved that he can get off the floor. Well done.
