Emotional Grant admits defeat

Emotional Grant admits defeat

I am sure that a number would have seen Avram Grant on sky sports news back along, if not I am sure you WILL see it again several times.

Unfortunately, if that is the right word, sky sports no longer allowed their videos to be embedded into other websites and at the moment there is not even a video on their site to link back to.

This, here, is the article into which I would 'think' the video will later appear?

So, this is how sky sports - in words - describe these recently events...

Asked if he had been told that the club was going into administration, which carries a nine-point league penalty, he told Sky Sports News: 'More or less.'

When pushed on the subject of a potential new buyer, Grant said: 'I don't know. The finances, I don't know anything about.'

'Of course,' he said when told that he looked upset. 'You can imagine.

'We did a football job and every step we couldn't do our job. I am very sad for me and for everybody.'

Avram sums it up perfectly really with his 'we did a football job and every step we couldn't do our job. I am very sad for me and for everybody' thoughts.

It is the worthless scumbags away from the playing side of things that have constantly screwed us over that have got us into this position yet who are the ones that are left to pick up the pieces and suffer the most?

The fans, the club employees and the club itself, all of the ones that do care connected to this - and REALLY do care, and I think it has become more and more evident that Avram is one of these that does, none more so, dare I say it, than today...

It is the first season i havent bought one, and always full price!

When the administrator takes over tomorrow the 1st thing he will do is cut costs by slashing the staff, as Avram is reputed to be on a million a year he might not get any choice whether to stay or not. Hope I'm wrong.

Pompey fans - as one that follow Avram Grant many years(i'm an Israeli), so i know, that he is person with ideals and emotions, that's why he agreed not to get payed that long and even to convince the players to play in the good form that they shown lately(any other team in the world, would have collapsed much earlier, but because of the leading spirit of Grant and the respect of players to him and the support of the fans, that didn't neglect the club, even in it worse time, so the team shown until now, unbeliveable spirit, in comparance to the sircumstences and the historic win against Southampton, that always was the achiles point of pompey, was the cream de la cream, that no one expect in the current sircumstences). Look, i wrote to Grant in his facebook, what i think about pompey and it fans, the differences between it faithful fans to the spoiled fans of Chelsea, that even the Champ's final(as the better side) wasn't good enough for them, in the first year of AG in chelsea(and now, they wish to get back to the same spot that AG took them). I wrote to Grant, that a club like pompey has history, but has future as well - and he could be for pompey, like ferguson to manchester, wagner to arsenal and rafa to liverpool and lead the club all the way from the championship, back to the premiership. I wrote to him, that if there is a crowd that really deserve it, that Grant will lead it towards the future, it's you, pompey crowd, because you have a heart inside you, a huge heart. Well, i guess you want to know what he answered, he just said, "thank you"(so at least i know he read it and it touched him). Look fellas, we have to be realistic, i know that he has an ofer to manage the israeli national team(and israel have a great chance this time, because the other teams that chosen, are not the best). therefore, if pompey will relegate with -15 points for the next year, i'm not sure that he will stay(after all he is a champ's league finalist), but who knows... But if pompey will just lose this year, without to get hurt by points decreasing next year, then it could be more logical. But anyway, if i'm a pompey fan and really love the club, i'm chanting Avram Stay, Avram Stay, Avram Stay, in all the rest games. after all, if there is a future to the club(and i guess there is), Avram Grant as an Idealistic person and emotional one, will might consider staying, if all the fans as one, show him the love that they got for the club and for him, as the lion that fight for this club in the frontier, like no one does. Well, that's my point of view and i tried to help by sending him note to his facebook. the chants, i will leave it to you, after all i'm thousands of miles from the "park" and no one will hear me... :=)

I want the man to stay ; he won't, and I know this is not popular but his negative tactics have cost us 12 points at least ( I note Macca has stated the same and more) so it could be argued that with respect we didn't "do our football jobs". If the" we" had it could and has been argued, the club would have been a much more attractive prospect for a buyer. I agree that the man has fought with great dignity and is a solid person. But he didn't have the likes of Dogba, Lamps et al playing for him he is not a manager for this end of the table. In addition because of too many occaisions of confused, experimental or just down right negative tactics I cant agree he has this so far a great manager. LoL - course now I've put that on the web, we'll go on and win the cup! season been a great manager.

I think his grief is because he was lied to, like Paul Hart before him. Only PS and, possibly, HR knew what was going on. I've nothing against him as a man but managerially I class him alongside PH. I agree with Russell.

On this day in history...13th February

A look back at this day in history, and what was happening with Pompey courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, 13th February.

Big Ben returns!

There's no doubting how important Davies is to us, we most definitely missed the former Sheffield United man against Orient but Cook's confirmed he'll start against Bristol Rovers.

Winning over the fans

Cook feels he still has to 'win over a proportion' of the fans at Pompey?

Tubbs surprised...in a way he has a point

5-goals in a combined total of 8-matches isn't a bad return is it so having made his move to Eastleigh this week I get Tubbs' point at his surprise Cook wasn't selecting him.
