'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Forget the past lets ALL pull in the one direction

Yep we are ALL worried about what might happen.

Yep, we are ALL also angry about what has been before to get us into this mess.

Yet NOTHING we do can alter what has been, yet what we do MIGHT alter what COULD yet be...

I am as guilty as anyone, and as recently as a day or so ago, of having a go, a rant, a pop, call it what you will at someone that I feel is highly accountable for this mess we are in, yet when you stop and reflect does this REALLY make any difference?

It might make you feel a bit better for a little while, but all in all will it change what has happened?

Nope, of course it will not there is nothing, short of finding a DeLorean with a flux capacitor and going back in time, that can change this!

So, it really is time that whatever got us into this mess is put to one side, lets all pull together to do all we can to TRY to help us have some future.

We now know that we are back in court on Monday March 1st, again you could be forgiven for thinking that we can do nothing about the outcome of this, which is many ways is right, although at the same time we 'might' be able to do a great deal about this!

How, I hear some say?

Well quite simply WE are Portsmouth Football Club, this club IS in the shop window so do not underestimate - regardless of what a mess financially we might be in and how 'unattractive' we might look - just how important we are to the football club, both now and how we have been in the past.

It is not beyond comprehension that we, THE FANS, could well have a major part to play in us having a future you know! I know I have said similar things in the past, so I will just put some re-emphasis on this along with further points.

Firstly the more money we put into this club in ticket sales for the coffers, and every penny counts, for the Stoke game this weekend - and a full house 'should' be possible, despite being on the box, especially with the £20 tickets on offer.

And secondly for the support we give the club in the ground.

We ARE the greatest fans in the land, our 'performance' MUST be of the highest order once again - Fulham (a), Sunderland (h) and Scum (a) have ALL been absolutely unbelievable, so lets do it again at the weekend, remember the TV cameras are also on show so this will reach an even greater global audience as we are on at a prime time.

Lets do what we do best, lets support the club to the best of our ability, and do the same at Burnley the weekend after, lets show a 'saviour' that we are well and truly worth showing, even if we are in a mess!

Portsmouth Football Club still has far too much to offer football, and we can show just how much...

Agree 100% Rug I'll be there as normal bellowing my head off .. but if all else does fail I actually DO have a DeLorean with a working flux capacitor in the garage..

i would take it out for a spin on sunday 28th february to make sure it still works tho chixy, as 'if' we get to march 1st without any new investor you might need to go back...

Interesting that you say our performance was remarkable against Sunderland, do you mean the fans? I thought the atmosphere was crap quite frankly, i'm in the middle towards the back of the fratton end and despite singing for most of the match appeared to be in the minority and hardly anyone else was joining in. There were a couple of rousing choruses but nothing along the lines of the 'now legendary stockport game' (that's it's official title now) and there were only 8k or so people there for that.

Someone has emailed me saying we, I mean PFC are asking the Prem if we can sell players to raise funds!!! No idea where this comes from. Can't imagine it would happen & if it is true then it's imminent administration!
storagematt
of course sunderland (h) was not in the 'stockport league', but i still thought it was decent - fulham and scum, especially 2nd half, away games were fantastic stooH...
pompeyrug
Well I have 4 of us going to give a yell...

We're asking for permission to sell players? WE. ARE. SCREWED. Just take administration ffs....

Not sure if it's true..if it is were are royally ****ed. One not of caution-this story started with no evidence in the Mail yesterday. It could just be Chinese whispers -the mail quote Tribal Foorball, the Guradian quote the mail , sky quote the Guardian and the BBC report it as Sky breaking news..by then the fact that the Pompey 'source' was in fact a drunken man in a pub's pet Beaver is no longer mentioned

OK, lets put a plan together - we'll get Chixy's Delorean with working flux capacitor out the garage and then what? Perhaps we put a few grand on the 2007-08 Asia cup and FA cup double, and then use that money to buy the club off Gaydamak before Al Fahim gets a look in. Would that work? Oh and I guess we can do some research on lottery ticket numbers as well before we go and make some big money that way. That's it, come on Chixy, summer 2007 please!
