Two becomes four?!

Two becomes four?!

Portsmouth Football Club having a future is something that we must now turn our attentions back too, yep we DID spank Scum 4-1 in their own backyard, and yep they can NEVER take that away from us so we must continue to savour this, but, and not trying to bring anyone down, the threat that this club could be taken away from us is still a very real one...

In the courts last week Pompey's lawyers told the judge that we had 2 serious offers on the table, prior to the scum game - talking to The News - Peter Storrie 'claimed' that this interest had grown to 4: 'we have two more interested now, so hopefully something will come out of this.

'I am very optimistic.

'One of them is a very serious interest, and I will find out more after this game.

'We will continue to fight hell and water to keep this club alive.'

He also paid 'tribute' to the premier league for their help so far and said they are being kept in 'regular contract' with to be kept 'up-to-date with the latest proceedings.'

Speaking of the premier league though we now know, following a 'statement' from them, that they WILL NOT help us out with an advancement of parachute payments: 'the Premier League has very specific rules regarding what happens if a club suffers an insolvency event.

'We will not act outside those rules or in a way that undermines the competition.'

They WILL be praying big time that our 'statement of affairs' documentation to the courts this week pleases everyone or they will have chaos on their hands 'should' we go to he wall!

We can only hope that 1 of these '4 interested parties' shows enough interest to come in and do what is needed, and this intent is enough to please the courts this week to give us a 'little' more time or I suspect that HMRC will look to bring forward that March 1st court date...

'Word on the street' has it that a takeover 'might' be secured by Thursday? Although - if true - this is good news, as has been pointed out before Wednesday and our 'statement of affairs' is due to the courts would be better. Then again you would hope - again if true - that proof this is happening would be enough to appease them, right?

It might end up as 8, but I sincerely hope that Terry Vegetables is not one of them. He might have bought us for a quid last time, but he would need a lot more now. Pompey have been on the brink before, so let's hope that we can again survive. I once followed Farncombe - gone, Guildford City - gone, so please God not Pompey as well.

hopefully al fahim aint the person unless he has some serious wealthy backers. Hope we get a good one but not a man city one who buys the best players as it will just ruin the game.

i am not quite sure 'how' SAF would have suddenly come into money, but 'if' - as unlikely as it might seem - that he has then i think he would make a decent owner, i would like to know where his money has suddenly come from tho...

Rug I second that. At least he seems to have got a passion for the club. I hope he's found the money to support that passion.

SAF would get backers without doubt but the state of the Dubai economy at present suggests it might be difficult. Better the devil you know eh?

Hartlepool (a) - Safety first!

A win at Wimbledon made sure of a play-offs place. Technically we can finish in the top 3 but this would require an unlikely set of results from too many clubs wouldn't it?
