'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Two becomes four?!

Portsmouth Football Club having a future is something that we must now turn our attentions back too, yep we DID spank Scum 4-1 in their own backyard, and yep they can NEVER take that away from us so we must continue to savour this, but, and not trying to bring anyone down, the threat that this club could be taken away from us is still a very real one...

In the courts last week Pompey's lawyers told the judge that we had 2 serious offers on the table, prior to the scum game - talking to The News - Peter Storrie 'claimed' that this interest had grown to 4: 'we have two more interested now, so hopefully something will come out of this.

'I am very optimistic.

'One of them is a very serious interest, and I will find out more after this game.

'We will continue to fight hell and water to keep this club alive.'

He also paid 'tribute' to the premier league for their help so far and said they are being kept in 'regular contract' with to be kept 'up-to-date with the latest proceedings.'

Speaking of the premier league though we now know, following a 'statement' from them, that they WILL NOT help us out with an advancement of parachute payments: 'the Premier League has very specific rules regarding what happens if a club suffers an insolvency event.

'We will not act outside those rules or in a way that undermines the competition.'

They WILL be praying big time that our 'statement of affairs' documentation to the courts this week pleases everyone or they will have chaos on their hands 'should' we go to he wall!

We can only hope that 1 of these '4 interested parties' shows enough interest to come in and do what is needed, and this intent is enough to please the courts this week to give us a 'little' more time or I suspect that HMRC will look to bring forward that March 1st court date...

'Word on the street' has it that a takeover 'might' be secured by Thursday? Although - if true - this is good news, as has been pointed out before Wednesday and our 'statement of affairs' is due to the courts would be better. Then again you would hope - again if true - that proof this is happening would be enough to appease them, right?

It might end up as 8, but I sincerely hope that Terry Vegetables is not one of them. He might have bought us for a quid last time, but he would need a lot more now. Pompey have been on the brink before, so let's hope that we can again survive. I once followed Farncombe - gone, Guildford City - gone, so please God not Pompey as well.

Al Fahim? You serious? Has he suddenly got his 50m? lol

hopefully al fahim aint the person unless he has some serious wealthy backers. Hope we get a good one but not a man city one who buys the best players as it will just ruin the game.

i am not quite sure 'how' SAF would have suddenly come into money, but 'if' - as unlikely as it might seem - that he has then i think he would make a decent owner, i would like to know where his money has suddenly come from tho...

Rug I second that. At least he seems to have got a passion for the club. I hope he's found the money to support that passion.

SAF would get backers without doubt but the state of the Dubai economy at present suggests it might be difficult. Better the devil you know eh?

he knows whats what so i cant see him doing this unless he has money or backing....there is no play time from here on in, its put up or we are dead. He knows it. He has the money im sure of it, he wouldnt bother otherwise, time has ran out.

Could be SAF and that wouldn't be bad; assuming backers are there. Could be just another buy time publicity stunt; we will find out on Weds.

If you remember fellas .. SAF was due a large payment at the start of the year from the Royal Family for his work on Hydra Properties .. at the time we heard about it (Sept/Oct time) we laughed that it could be too late .. well maybe it's not .. thta' my guess on where his money has come from

All this not knowing and waiting and seeing is doing my head in. Thank goodness there's the supporters trust as a back up, cos if none of these "buyers" come up trumps, we're going to need them!

I heard that too but i also heard that the amount he was claiming that he was owed as a bonus far out weighed what the development was worth in total, which is why he was called the alleged liar he is, by residents in his own country. wouldnt count on him at all, but i believe a saviour will arise, at least to stop us going down the pan

michael tabor is being touted on another site as the mysterious guy from monaco, possibly along with the magniers in tow, the Saudi Royal Family would be immense, but they could buy LIVERPOOL if they wanted, but if you looked atthe ballance of those two clubs, buy an already established name on its knees for 3oomil,+ that still needs a ground, or us for a Quid, but has modest debts...and needs a ground, where the buisness is sport, and there are no obvious outcomes...iwithn five years Man utd could be relegated , fergusson retired..who knows.

I read about Tabor last night also when I was all glazy eyed. Did text Rug asking what he knew, but the bugger din't reply ha! But hopefully will be revealed soon, we will see. James seems confident that Pompey will be ok, perhaps he knows something! Talking of James, does anyone ever happen to bump into at all in Exeter? Someone I work with said he was out in Timepiece in Exeter Sunday night!
