Pompey get Brum at home

Pompey came out of the hat as the last pairing once more, this time a home draw awaited us, Luther Blisset doing the honours, Chelsea were kept away from us, as were Spurs much to no doubt Jamie O'Hara's delight.

We maybe on the verge of imploding as a premiership club, but our love affair with the FA cup goes on, could a trip to the arch really be within our grasp once more?

prior to the drawi wrote down all the candidates, circled the ones i didnt want, Chelsea Spuds(BWFC) Villa(CPFC), Citeh(SCFC)..and WHB (RFC) - why WBA< well because of the revenge factor for them......I also wanted the mega rich two to draw each other......I was happy with any other daw...so I am Happy, I have also said all along we will win the cup, or at least get to the final this season...

I just wanted a home draw and thats what we've got. Could have been alot worse, to be honest we couldn't have asked for a better tie. Can't underestimate the brum but they won't like coming down to us one bit. Could we be on for our 2nd FA Cup in two years!? PUP!

to win the 2nd F A Cup in two years in the circumstances we have would not only be amazing but no MORE amazing than the stuff we've been going through recently. It's such a crzy story, would make F A Cup seem normal. Then we can play Milan again and do it right this time!

It's not going to be an easy tie, but at least we're at home. Its getting exciting thinking about doing it again - but lets not get carried away! Altho at least if we do lose to them, we only go out the cup, we won't be losing to the scummers. That would have been unthinkable.

Amazing how a great win, puts a massive smile on our faces & hope where there was despair. I wanted a home tie and if so, against one of the lesser clubs. No disrepect to Brum, who will be very hard to beat, it's better than Chelski, MC, AV & the spuds. We have a chance, let's fill FP & give them one hell of a game. Then may be we get to go to Wembley again, so unreal.

have to admit unless we give wilson a brain transplant we will do well to conceed less than two goals a game so we had better be scoring ourselves

What a fantastic weekend hopefully this week will be full of hope for pompeys future, got a feeling from now till wednesday we should hopefully find out whether our club is going to be taken over again. Fingers and toes crossed. Been along time since i jumped about so much over a game of footy on saturday. The last time i felt like that was the FA cup final!!! Got a good feeling about the week ahead PUP Keep the Faith

well let think at this stage in 08 we got Utd away and look how that ended up - getting Nonda in would be a bonus but i reckon we have got as a god a chance as the rest... Spuds in the final, what a story that would be ..... PUP

Given the mediocre quality of our make shift team I would have preffered a lower division opponent, but it's the cup so anything could happen. The blue noses won't be a pushover; we will need to kill the game off st home.

Brum at home .. one of the best possible options .. although the thought of a date at Wembley (should we win) against Chelsea.. Spurs. Villa or Citeh really worries me .. Still one game at a time ..

As Bock say's; unless something miraculous happens to that useless headless chicken that is Wilson, we will concede a hat full. Any Premiership team will murder us if we carry on defending like that!

ok, i know that i am a self confessed fan of wilson's BUT, and when you take into account that he IS the most inexperienced (in terms of age and appearances) player that we have i think the guy is having a damn good season and was easily, without a shadow of a doubt the best defender we had in the 1st half! as for the goal, yep he should have cleaned out the scummer and diop but watch the goal again, that waste of space diop WAS in front of his man and wilson yet he just STANDS there and watched the ball go over his head - had he attempted a header he would have cleared it. he did this all afternoon, just stood there watching instead of jumping, it is almost as if he fears jumping and landing on the ground as his legs are so fragile they will go...

Yeah, I agree Rug. There is a peculiar anti-Wilson feeling among some fans. He isn't the best defender in the world but bear in mind, he's still a kid in footballing terms. He does make mistakes but so do some of his more experienced peers. He was thrown in at the deep end at the beginning of the season and has acquitted himself well. He's not my favourite player but on Saturday I thought he stood out when the S..m were doing their thing. Besides which we had a makeshift defence on the day, is it any wonder they did not look too comfortable at the beginning? I just don't understand some of our 'fans', on a day when we should be glorifying all of our players there are those who must 'nitpick'.

theres no nitpicking just realistic expectations (of which i have had for some time now) wilson would not get in ANY OTHER premiership team in this stage of his career. (i would bet anyone that he wont be playing premiership football in 2years+ time) it is unfortunate that he has had to be thrown in and we havent had much choice, kaboul was a exception, granted that he had slightly more overall experience than wilson but when thrown in to the prem, he apart from the odd lapse, took to it like the preverbal duck, and for the most covered wilsons mistakes. but we havent got that luxury now and unless one of these 'freebies' we have picked up, is the bargain of our lifetime all i was saying is we will struggle and we will conceed goals, and nothing that any of you have said about giving them a chance (no choice) will make me change my mind. I would say he doesnt mind getting stuck in, but the fact that he likes to get the wrong side of forwards and try his fancy tricks in areas of the park we dont need it, the poor outweighs the good. Apart from that hes brilliant

bstanle; how on earth is being critical of a very average player, nitpicking? He's not good enough...end of! I've never changed my mind about him. His positional play is nieve at best. His awareness is woeful. He's green (Not his fault) but he doesn't learn from his mistakes. He like Bellend, is a liability in the box. I fear they are going to give away a freekick or penalty every game. I loved the win, as much as the next man, my hangover Sunday told me that, and my stupid grin when I wind up the scummers is a great feeling. But, in truth we were dammed lucky to even be in it at 60 minutes. Some of us see the bigger picture, and it's not all about scraping by a league one side! I suppose my 'Nitpick' at Wilson will make me a lesser fan and traitor...So what!!!

Sorry Rug but it's time Wilson lived up to his earlier potential. He's simply not good enough - he's making fundemental errors that would look bad on a Sunday morning pub league pitch. Penton's really not nitpicking - he's just taken off the blinkers and told it how it is. That said, from our perspective, football is a game of opinions and that's the beauty of this forum. Here's my opinion, for what it's worth; Wilson is a useless lummox who will cost us a dozen goals a season.

fair play guys, each to their own as they say - never said anyone was nitpicking tho...like you say tim opinions is what football is all about - and it is my hope that we can soon get back to ONLY having to talk about football, on the pitch not off it - and how wilson is viewed is one of these, altho i know i am right ;-)
