FA charges Grant

A 'rare' show of emotion by the normally poker faced Avram Grant on Tuesday, when he confronted referee Kevin Friend at half time, has seen him hit with an FA charge...

He marched onto the pitch to angrily confront Friend, who - on the whole - was not very friendly on the night, and this saw him banished to the stands for the 2nd half.

This has seen him charged with 'improper conduct'.

Grant has until 6pm on Thursday to admit or deny the charge, which will then go before 'a Regulatory Commission' in early March, well maybe this month, something before March 5th anyway...

I was MORE than happy to see Grant do this as I had, in all honesty, had a few thougths recently that 'perhaps' he has given up, but this proved he has FAR from given up!

And what happens to Kevin the muppet, what sanction against that bit of incompetence?

I think the fans should rally around and pay his fine for him ;-) I loved that display of passion - better than some of his other alleged displays of passion ;-0

Leave him alone - he is my hero and has surpassed Jamo in my affections. From where I sit, I can see the expressions on the Ref's face, and at some matches, when the Fratton End are "serenading" the Ref, you can see from the expression on the refs' face, that he is delighting in deciding against us. I really don't think it does to wind the ref up, I really don't!

'improper conduct'.. complete tosh.. The ref was lucky it was Avram and not a supporter in his face .. Agree with Russ.. that the ref should face charges too

Perhaps we should pay his fine, because as I understand it he's only been paid once and has been funding his own expenses (including the "massages"). He is a hero for doing this, and it was worth the trouble he got into.
