Nonda continues to be 'linked'

Shabani Nonda has been a name 'linked' with Pompey for a few days now.

Some 'said' he was going to arrive before the Sunderland game, today The News says we 'face a race against time' to register him in time for the Scum game at the weekend.

The 32-year old, who once scored twice against us for Blackburn - and missed a penalty - is a free agent after leaving Galatasaray.

He has admitted that he is 'keen' to return to England and it has been 'strongly claimed' that this return will be with Pompey, but we need to register him, and get international clearance, by noon tomorrow for him to feature in the cup.

All of which seems unlikely, if he even does sign?

Strangest of all is, with the club literally a week or so away from going out of business, that he would sign for us at all...

He could sign for us for the weekend, he bangs in a hat trick against scum, if we go under he gets released, the 3 team rule wouldn't count because of our situation, he signs for someone else, everyone's a winner.

Strange indeed Rug. I should think his agent will be negotiating a good redundancy package ;-)

It would seem strange getting him in, but if he scores against scummers who cares - bring him on.
