Decision made - case adjourned!

After rejecting another cash offer earlier in the day the court has eventually made its decision on what Pompey's future will be, and this court has decided...

The decision has been to adjourn the case and grant us a 7-day stay of execution, so we now have this time to find the money we owe.

We need to issue a 'statement of affairs' to prove that we CAN provide what is needed, to counter the insolvency claims from HMRC, who also claim that we owe £11.5m!

So, 'if' there is any saviour waiting in the wings - and sky sports news have claimed that PFC have said we have TWO serious offers on the table to buy the club AND pay off our debts - then they MUST move quickly and sort this out - failing that Balram Chainrai MUST put his hand in his pocket and settle this deal or he WILL lose the vast majority, if not all, of what he has already put in.

This has been a horrible, horrible thing to go through and I can say - as many of us have all along - I would not wish this on ANYONE.

I guess we NOW have to go through this all again next week? Well, not next week, it will be next Friday - 19th.

Only 7 days Adjounment -pray that the potential buyers are serious but that probably isn't long enough

Don't know monkey, seven days seems to be a long time in the business of football. If the offers are actually on the table, then maybe something can be done soon.

Lets hope these two serious investors are SERIOUS and that they are not dreams Mr Storrie has been having recently!

The chaiman just did what he asked him to do, as soon as he knows theres no money he leaves. Spurs will be next if funds run low. This is why Avram Grant has to be commended for the job he's doing at the moment because I bet he's not being paid for it, plus he really knows what 'Bare Bones' means!

Stig. Not sure we blame HR. He spent what he was allowed. When he wasn't allowed he left. Problem is we didn't the taxman. Now we have a stay of execution, which means the axe will chop our head off unless we can sort it. Last throw of the dice.

In reality the 7 days is to allow the club further negotiation time with HMRC

In other news just got an email from the club saying I have 254 reward card points.... nice to know they care. I have a horrible feeling about this :( Pompey is more than just a football club to me.... Im not sure what I would do without it

One Bl**dy week !!! another agonising time for the fans, but nice that we can go to St Fairies and stick it up them regardless !!! Dig deep Chanrai, and show willing.....Cardiff and Southend got longer because they made some effort to pay the tax man......give em a sweetener now to make sure you are looked upon more favourably..Lets see if these potential owners are serious (probably not, me thinks!). PUP Now Saturday becomes the issue for a few days. PUP

I am like you glennpfc, I have supported Pompey since 1949 and I just cannot imagine life without my beloved Football club, I have been with them through good times and bad, but none as bad as they are at this moment in time........ I just hope and pray that there is someone out there who can help us out of this very deep hole. POMPEY PLAY UP.... Pompey till I die.

Hopefully these two potential new buyers are ligit and we can be saved at the last minute. I assume the link with the Irish /American Group could be John Mengier the Race Horse Guy who is supposedly worth 4bn and not only that he pi**ed Alex Ferguson of so can't be all bad. At least we can relax a bit and enjoy giving the scummers a right old thrashing again

As a concerned (non Pompey) football fan my worry here is that HMRC have probably been told 2 or 3 times this season "Oh don't worry we have a new owner any day and they'll sort it all out". Unfortunately its never happened so they've now run out of patience and in the discussions yesterday they wuld have been quite hard nosed. As for new owners/investors who is likely to want to buy a club that owes probably 50m (guess), has few valuable assets left and is almost certain to be relegated even without a points deduction ? Seems to me that the best hope of a rescue has to be either Chanrai or Gaydamak as they have most to lose from the club going down.

Well phew - for now! At least the scummer game goes ahead. As for whether there really are magic "new owners" who will rescue us, well . . . I think its Santa Clause & the Easter Bunny! If Chanrai was really interested he would loan the money secured against the next lot of TV money - not asking the HRMC to wait till then, that's pathetic. They are playing russian roullette with this club, and the HRMC have loaded all the barrels and are dying to pull the trigger! They want to make an example of us.
