The most important week in PFC's history!

The most important week in PFC's history!

This week is the week that will shape our existence so it is quite literally the most important week in our history. If all goes against us, again quite literally, Portsmouth Football Club could become history!

Our fate is in the hands of Balram Chainrai and Peter Storrie I would guess, along with others, including, from the looks of it, even though I thought he would have been moved on by now, Mark Jacob? Storrie VERY MUCH played a major role in getting us into this mess so he, 'the innocent victim' - as he portrays it, owes us one to help try and get us out of it.

His latest pleas 'for time' may well fall on death ears as the HMRC's view could be we have had enough time?

Ok, it is fair to say that they, and other creditors, will get 'nothing' if we get wound up, but it is also fair to say that we, well they (the ones running us) have known that this was coming so they should be sorting it out, arguably not pleading for more time.

I am sure that they, HMRC, do not want to win wind us up but could quite easily send us into admin and that is as good as liquidating us really, right?

Storrie and Jacob 'claim' that we have '2 or 3 interested parties/groups' - given their track record with things that would happened compared to things that have happened I would not be convinced by this but we can only hope that this is the case and we can earn a stay of execution before one of these 'would be saviours' turns up...

I would 'hope', I will not say expect as it would be wrong to 'expect' anything, that HMRC will give us this time to pay off this debt - remember that Notts County were given 28-days to do this, so I would 'hope' we get at least the same, then again our debt is 10 times more than the one they had!

We are VERY MUCH living in hope now, so we MUST keep fingers firmly crossed this week and hope that what needs to happen can happen...

A very important week indeed. The city of Portsmouth is over 800 years old, Pompey as know it has been the beloved football team for countless generations ober the last 112 years. Those of us who have been able to go over the many decades, giving up thousands of hours our time & much more in ££££'s. All for what??? For some unfit jolly camel breath chaps to fck it all up inside a 12 months!!!

"send us into admin and that is as good as liquidating us really, right?" No Rug, at least we'll still have a club if we go into administration and still be in the PL until relegated. "Storrie and Jacob 'claim' that we have '2 or 3 interested parties/groups' " - surely they know whether it's 2 or 3 interested parties or are they dealing in airy-fairy land?

Storagematt, I think the Arabs had a lot of help from Sasha and Storrie. Not paying the HRMC is purely down to Storrie not being on top of this a long time ago. As "one of the insiders said" the bill was just pushed to the bottom of the pile. Blatant bad management.

I don't like the sound of "death ears". Very ominous ;)

personally i think we will win the GA Cup again this year, I also think that HMRC will give usa very short window to PAY THE MONEY, not appeal how much etc but PAY WHAT IS OWED...and that is only right. Mandaric, Storrie & Redknapp by rights should be sent down for defrauding you and me of the tax they should have paid-not the same fraud-ing of you and I at the scandleous prices we have paid for tickets and merchandise, and wages and fees paid to agents and players

The problem is that even if we're given more time to pay unless someone stumps up the cash we're not going to be able to pay it. Then we're back to square one, even a 6 month deferrance will just put us in the **** when we get the first parachute payment. We need to come to a payment plan with them preferably with an initial deferral and hope that's enough to convince people that we're not getting wound up and start selling season tickets again - not that many will buy when they don't know which league we'll be in next season. Personally if I were the club i'd price them as if we're definitely going down, if you stump up now you get them for a massive discount, if you wait until and we stay up you pay premier prices.

If, and it is a big 'IF' we get taken over again, how much debt will this person's be taking over. Last I heard it was about 25mil for normal running costs(whatever that is?), 17.5mil to Mr Chanrai, 7.5 mil to HMRC and about 30mil to Gaydamak. So all in all that would be 80mil. Also would the new owner have to buy the land around the ground from Gaydamak? How much is it worth and how much would we sell the club for? Are we looking at about 100mil to buy a premiership team?

Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf Al-Saud...could this be our saviour... My wife has just got in from work, and I rather excitedly met her the statement "Hey B, a very Rich Arab is interested in buying Pompey"...her rather droll replay was "Oh really?"....then I thought...fair enough...but its all over the internet, just google him

As always Rug, you have hit the nail on the head, it is a very scary week indeed, I have been trying my hardest to keep in a positive mood about this all, and I have even been acting like Portsmouth Football Club all this week, by stating to people who ask that I am not really sure exactly how much debt we are in, because the papers all report different sources and figures, and oh its possible we could have some buyers on the horizon, and oh I dont think its quite as bad as what the press are making out. But the truth is that I am very worried, I dont want to loose my club, even from this far away it is tugging at the ol heart strings, so I will have my fingers crossed for the next couple of days and hope that some light can prevail from the eternal bog of darkness that we seem to have slipped into!! Debut delight...kind of!

It wasn't a result, and in many ways a performance, for Sheff United loanee Freeman to remember too fondly as he didn't really have a great game against Orient? Then again who did!

Tubbs has left the building

Tubbs has finally left Pompey; perhaps his destination is something of a surprise then again there had been some 'rumours' recently of an Eastleigh interest.
