'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Green and Gold

A message to all those fans travelling to Old trafford on Saturday.

If you are approached by people trying to convince you to wear green and gold, they are not crazy Norwich or Argyle fans, they are the latest peaceful protestors at OT.

Their club is over £700 million in debt and fans are looking for more and more innovative ways to show their disapproval.

Tomorrow is a poignant date for them as it marks the anniversary of the Munich air crash, an event that stunned the country and football fans worldwide.

If you can hold up something green and/or gold(or yellow) during the minute's silence, you will show a fitting respect and tribute to the fans of today and the memories of yesterday.

if man us creditets called in there debts, they would be in more s**t than us... bl***dy foreign owners...!
pompeycarpet
And did the United fans give us backing when they came down? Do they even give a t0ss about our or anyone's else's plight for that matter?.....I doubt it very much!...Sorry But I have too much to worry about our own plight, to give a hoot about those arrogant Surrey types!
pentonpompey
A bit crass to use the Munich anniversary as a means to protest i'd say!
pentonpompey
to be fair this 'green and gold' campaign has been going for a while, so it is not just coming about now...
as for manyoo fans giving us backing, you are right, they did not but did anyone ask? nope...
i think we are now at the time where it is in the best interests of ALL football fans to unite as football in this country IS moving closer to coming crashing down!
pompeyrug
Yep we have enough to worry about than they do. I hope their players let the ocassion upset their play & we nick a point. Though I very much doubt it.
storagematt
Rug the only reason football is going to come crashing down is the players wages & deals thats what causing football to go tits up PLayers greed they should be the ones who realise that they cant go on being utter ar****oles

Man Utd are one of the prime movers in the kacking-up of football. They (and others) are the reason why no one wants to play for a 'normal' team any more at 'normal' wages. They are the reason why being 'The Best Team in England' is not open to everyone, anymore but only 2 or 3 teams. They have spoiled it for me and millions of others. In the Olden days clubs won the title because of good players, good managers, innovative tactics, momentum, support and luck. now it's just money. Just money. I could win the title with Man City. See, just money. So they can knob off, in fact I hope they are wound up and the ground bulldozed and the supporters sold into slavery (very Punic Wars, there!) And for the record, I WOULD NEVER WANT MY CLUB TO BE THE BEST, UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS. £700,000,000, MY AR$E!
Et_tu_Pompeii
Football fans need to unite.. so why are we talking about Man United !
Chix
what has been said is right, in many ways the mess that football is in is down to the likes of manyoo - who i do hate, but is this mess the fans' fault? nope, and they do - believe it or not - still have some 'genuine fans' that are not glory hunting, bandwagon scum so knowing what we are going through i sure as hell know that i would not wish this on anyone...
what has to be kept in mind is the above was sent to me by someone who works for the Football Supporters Federation and they are fighting for ALL fans, no matter what club, so i was asked to add it so i did.
pompeyrug
Sorry Chix, and don't take offence but the only reason Man Ure are sometimes challenged is because of man city and chelsea's unlimited funds and Wenger's talent as a manager. The Prem is rubbish and always has been. Fan's unite? That's like siding with Hitler to beat the communists. I'd rather side with the Scum. As a test, picture Derby or Sheffield Wednesday or Preston winning the Prem Title. There is no chance unless a billionaire supporter buys them as a hobby. See? Money, that's what football's become and a massive scrap each season between 12 teams to see who is going to fail. Succeeding doesn't matter any more, just not failing matters for most teams in there.
Et_tu_Pompeii
Regardless of the arguments above, I hope that all those at OT respect the minute silence and do our club and football in general proud.
ninjatim
I certainly agree with that Tim!
pentonpompey
I think its a bit insulting to the real plight that Pompey is in, asking our fans to support Manyoo's "protest". That doesnt take anything away from the need to pay proper respect to the Munich air crash.
tracyc
Yes, respect the crash, that is commom decency. But the green and gold? Don't know enough about it myself, but Rug, when did the Footballer Supporters Federation speak up for us durng all our troubles? I also agree. Its the greed of footballers and their agents that have brought football to its knees. Owners are entitled to turn a profit.
