Dindane signed permanently?

Dindane signed permanently?

I have just, not too long ago, taken a phone call with it said to me that TalkSport had been saying that Lens had announced that Aruna Dindane has signed a permanent deal with us for £4.5m!?

A couple of things came into my head, such as 'the transfer window has closed' and 'even if we were allowed to make transfers they could ONLY be frees or loans.'

Looking on the official Lens site there is an article in which they refer to him as a 'former player' and say 'is permanently transferred to Portsmouth...'

In relation to Dindane Lens president Gervais Martel is actually quoted, today, on the Lens site as saying: 'English football is currently in big trouble. There have been many requests for a loan. But there was no reason to take it! Today's loan at Portsmouth becomes permanent transfer. The situation is complicated but I think there will be some glimmers of hope in the coming hours.

'Aruna has officially made its number of games, the transfer fee has begun to be paid in early February. But a club that recruits two players at the last minute is a club that will bounce! Obviously, they'll find someone to take over the club.'

Was a deal that we had in place legally made permanent by the appearance related clause that we had in place afterall - something we could not get out of? So were the selling club, both before and on Monday's transfer deadline day, actually us?

Most odd!

Who knows but it wouldn't surprise me if it is true. Another body but not worth that fee. I did find it funny though how he has been able to play for us after the ACON when he was supposedly moving on?

so... dindanes worth 4.5 million, begovic is worth 3.25 million. One of them is a a truly gifted young player that was keeping a first choice england player out of the team on merit, the other is fairly old, injury prone, and wastefull. lol.

Seriously fellas I don't think we've paid £4.5 million for his services. I've read other reports that say Dindane is effectively looking to buy out his last year at at Lens.

Agree with "stillthewhizz". Dindane has no openly said that although he still has a year on his contract with Lens, he will buy it out at the end of the season, and find new 'employers'. So as far as Lens are concerned, he is not coming back. What changed for Lens, was us defaulting on payments, and (possibly) triggering the 'buy now' clause, but this schedule was renegotiated fairly quickly - but still we owed them & had not kept up the loan payment repayments. Now they have received some money, they're all smiles. But Dindane wouldn't be off at the end of the season if we had signed him 'properly' - though not impossible as part of the renegotiations, we just took over (effectively), his contract, which is until the end of the season regardless.
