'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Worth a read perhaps...

'Word on the street' has it that The Guardian on Wednesday will make interesting reading for Pompey fans.

Whilst it might not be pleasant reading, it is 'likely' to shed new light on some issues...

Portsmouth continue to play out their tragedy as farce - here.

Alexandre Gaydamak's patience saves Portsmouth from administration - here.

Just wait until shameless has finished!
moley2
Are you sure its the Guardian? have you changed your email address rug
plymouth graham
Where's Rocha then, any news? Or anyone else? Could really have done with Miguel Vitor right now, he's young and would have wanted to make a name for himself in the premier league. Where have all these supposed loan/ free signings gone?! PUP

My guess is that Al Faraj is just a clerk employed by Arcadi, and the club will fold before the winding up petition is heard by the court

Any clues?

Sorry battenberg - too fast fo rme

# Gaydamak isn't pursuing payments immediately # If he had, we would go into admin # Mark Jacob considering position # We owe Hong Kong businessman at least £17m
Battenberg
Not sure if this is 'tomorrow's' story though, as it does say "Grant, who takes his team to Fulham tomorrow"... When The Guardian do publish tomorrow's paper copy online early the night before it does usually have the correct day on it. Possibly something else to wait for then?
Battenberg
Nothing new to be honest Folks, you could guess how it reads. With the possible exception of the suggestion that Storrie signed off the sales of Begovic and Kaboul
wakey
Gaydamak is a long time friend of the guardian, does it mention his stupid interest rate deals wheree we oweore on interest than we paid for the players. Does ot mention if we go into Admin the lovely Sasha gets nothing?
russellm
I think so Battenburg. Even though I'll be happy if there is no more bad news! PUP

Monies oed to Gaydamak are being disputed by Al Faraj, I think he says Al Fahim owes the money. I seem to recall Al Fahim bragging in the papers about having the option to buy the land surrounding FP from Gaydamak for £1.00. This was after he sold the club. The inference was: Aren't I a clever fellow - sold the stadium but kept the option to buy the surrounding land. If this is the case, then presumably it is up to him to stump up the 28m to trigger his right to buy the land for £1.00.
gandor1
PS: This is more complicated than your avarage game of Monopoly!
gandor1
Storrie knows nothing of these deals but in fact did also signed off the Bego deal, wonder where the sell on clause might be banked ? Is there one? Today someone reminded me that honest Pete couldn't have been involved in the tax evasion matter as that money was banked in Monaco and he was on holiday in the Sth of France a good, ooh almost 1.5 kilometers away; case dismissed!
russellm
I'm going to receive £300 into my bank account in Chichester tomorrow and I will be in Pompey while it is happening. I'm getting very worried now, cos if I'm not there, will it still get paid in?:-)
gandor1
This is the one we've been waiting for: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/david-conn-inside-sport-blog/2010/feb/03/portsmouth-mark-jacob-premier-league

I saw an Israeli website with an article about that fraudster's association with Pompey weeks ago. But anyway, the Guardian/Observer has sense. It's the only paper I can find that reports on Storrie's ridiculous salary, in spite of his weekly "I fear for Pompey" press conferences.
Lysimachus
Well I guess we know where the 1.6 million originally witheld has gone straight in Azougy's sky rocket. It is at least good to hear that the Premier League have concerns over Azougy's role at the club.
Steve C
Bits and bobs in there clarify the position a little but it still doesn't draw a conclusion .. Wtf is going to happen is anybodies guess..
Chix
storrie is made to look a tool in the gaydamak one as he seems to go totaly against what he has been saying publicly with what he does privately - his posistion has been untenable for weeks, yet we, the fans, are the ones that should have made him more aware of this...
the weblog one does clarify somethings, but for me the key things is that issues HAVE been brought into the public light in connection with a national daily, and one that has alittle more respect than a red top - maybe someone will finally listen and the premier league use some power to act?
pompeyrug
It's obvious what's going to happen Chix. History, finished, gone, deceased, Bankrupt, Bust .... ..... ..... ..... ..... Please fill in your own blanks.
pentonpompey
Well nothing new in there, but it does highlight what a fool PS is. It seems anyone can pull the wool over his eyes. How the hell does he justify his earnings?
PFCblue
Blue - well Harry sure as hell pulled the wool over his eyes. Harry has ridden off to bask in glory after persuading him to negotiate all those expensive deals, leaving Storrie with the consequences. Wonder how those two are getting on these days? (Harry lured them here - they came cos of arry, - wouldn't have got them without Harry). What a bloody joke! Well Harry must of lost some of his "shine" cos Begovic legged it from the s*****y Hotel Spurs had put him up in, in the middle of the night.

Have said for a while that Chanrai will be our new owner before long....these articles paint a pretty picture. The only reason Gaydamak will not force the issue (and therefore the club into Admin) is because this will play into Chanrais hands in letting him take over the club (from Admin) and therefore not be responsible for the other debt......a wicked web has been spun, full of money spiders....and the fans are the poor old fly in the middle....the fa/prem league are as effective as a conker in the corner of the room trying to stop spiders from moving in!!!!!! Far fetched ? I don't think so.
BarneyArmy
those two stories told me little I couldn't already have worked out for myself... seriously guys, lets focus this crap through the Trust if we want to DO something about it and focus on what could be at best a struggle in the face of adversity and at worst the last time we get to. I'm *****ed off too but I'm going to be glued to Fulham Pompey and I dont care who owns them for that 2 hours.
