Did he, did he not?

The rumours continue to circulate that 'perhaps' a couple of loan deals for European based players went through before the window closed - for me this is probably more 'clutching at straws' than anything else.

Manuel Fernandes was one of those 'expected' to arrive on loan, and he is the one that most 'reports' still think DID arrive, at least the paperwork did and he will be announced today?

The Sun, not that it makes it true of course, seems to think that Avram Grant got him in, saying 'Avram Grant was able to sign Valencia's ex-Everton midfielder Manuel Fernandes, 23, on loan but missed out on Werder Bremen full-back Dusko Tosic.'

Although The Quay says that it is thought we missed out on him.

Mateja Kezman is another 'reported' to be in the same boat.

Although, like I say this is clutching at straws, right?

Either way, if we go into admin - if we even do that, and not worse! - any loanees will be send back from whence they came anyway...

So if they are in, why don't we announce them like we did when we sold Younnes and Bego???

Apparently, the actions were done, but the paperwork to the FA/Prem on time is the issue. Sunderland have the same with Benjani - perhaps a bit of sense will come into play....but hey, if you leave things to the last minute, you run the risk of .........

If its true that the paperwork was done but not submitted in time then the words 'p155-up' and 'brewery' come to mind. Or its that just a cover story, as they never had any intention of bringing any one in, in the first place?
