Doomed...I can't see 10 goals being scored by the strikers we now have. To be honest, I would rather go down with a load of good youngsters like Matt Richie,scrapping for the cause than watch a bunch of mediocre journeymen run around like headless chickens Sorry, just depressed at watching Pompeys future being sold for peanuts.

I must admit it's looking bleak - I'm still not too bothered about Begovic as we need the money and consdiering he wasn't worth a penny six months ago I can see why they would sell him while he's hot

I think your wrong about Begovic Chix, I have it on good authority that he was very highly rated by the club, Begovic might not have been worth anything 6 months ago but he'll be worth double what we got for him by end of the season.

hey guys. ive ummed and arred a lot these last few days. my personal life is a bit of a mess (financially) people have screwed me over that i thought shouldnt have. needless to say im quite cynical now and see things in a different light. now regards to my poll ----> i voted for the fa/prem lge because i feel like they have let us the fans down by employing a NEW fappt and it has just miraculously failed. twice. i was so incensed by the fact we had sold begovic (which we hadnt then) that i had to blame someone. but this is my position and logic now. this IS what I want to do. i thought (in case of no admin/liquidation) that the best way to move up in teh football world was to get the foundations correct. well, isnt this what is happening. our wage bill is too high for the income produced so it needs to come down. we are cutting costs. is it being done in the right manner is another debate (dishing out debt to randoms with probably high returns, and the lack of management and communication (inter and outer)). we still need to sell the high earners (james, utaka etc) so why werent these sold. the only thing that is pishing me off is that we HAVE sold begovic. yes you could say £4m is enough. but that is not the point. he was a prospect. a future. a GOOD future. and probably not on a huge salary. therefore this concludes pompey: we are choosing the wrong person at the wrong time for the wrong price. but we will have to see where we are at xmas 2010 to REALLY know what kind of turd were standing in!!! pessimist out!

Jim you are right when you say benjani wasnt scoring regularly, and the reason he didnt get stick for it wasnt just for his running and effort, it was because we were quite freely scoring from midfield to take the pressure off his barren run, which if you hadnt noticed that this years midfield is as barren as benjani with a blindfold on

Takeover rumour? What takeover rumour? New one to me especially with the departure of Beg. The squad will have to do just hope we can pay them week in and week out? That would keep morale up and hopefully better results.

Sorry Chix I can, Storrie is the Chief Executive, therefore he is accountable for the running of the Club, and it's results off the field. Don't say it's the owners, because they hired him for £1.4m per year which he negoiated for himself. A good CEO doesn't let bad decisions to be made without fighting against them, and if the owners ie Gydamak go ahead despite his advice then they resign. Not only did he let bad decisions be made, he then supported them. On thet basis he is accountable for the mess we are in and should resign or be fired. No wonder he's been sidelined no one trusts him to manage anymore, and rightly so.

So why was Storrie and Jacob (yes Jacob) on the same side arguing the toss with Agouzy until late last night .. That's why I was certain Bego wouldn't go .. they all ganged up on Agouzy apparently ..S till it did no good.. As for Storrie generally .. he has his faults but his performance should surely be reviewed by those that employ him.. not us fans.. Still I know not many people agree with me on this but I just think he is so often the easy target .. unfairly ... And if he resigns we have who Agouzy .. Wonderful.. Sometimes I think it's better the devil you know.

i worry about the defence too, but then the midfield and attacking options problems take my mind off it!

I see he was back to his spectacular best this week. The Yak, Defoe, Crouch Teddy, Toddy would all have buried his chance at Man City, thats what really good strikers do, and they do it week in week out, and they hit the target 95/100. Utaka, Webber, Piccy and Dindane are just playing at being strikers. We have a weakened back line, that was leaky before Janice went. Ruff, i'm not saying he didn't play ok, but just ok isn't enough anymore if we're to survive. we have scored 19 goals this season, and that is relagation form, there is no argument as far as i'm concerned. Our strikers are not doing what they are paid for. They are paid to score or assist and they have failed on a mammoth scale this season. Our strikers have scored 8 BETWEEN THEM, 6 have come from the defenders (if you inc Belhadj) and 5 from midfield. I'm certainly not having a dig at anyone, but facts don't lie and neither does our league position.

I am surprised that no one has come in. But I am also surprised at not losing half of the squad! The problem with our squad is that now, we won't score a goal from corners and we cannot score from open play. So, we just cannot score!

Jesus chix, you have got one hell of a lot of comments to this... for what its worth, I do not see us as any weaker than we were before the transfer window to be honest. Sure loosing Jannice is a big shame, and I pray Harry didnt do a Krunchie with his fee too. This being said, getting O'Hara back is a big yes, and I honestly think that short term, this window could not have gone any better. look at who we could have lost, look at who was supposed to be off! With regards to goal scorer, I think Freddy has demonstrated his eye for goal, and with O'Hara back, and Avrams size 9s up KP's 'arris, maybe we can get a bit more in the way of service....I mean come on guys, even the legendary Uslaka seems to be thriving since we have stopped paying the man! Penton you say that Defoe & Toddy would both of buried that chance but i doubt statistics back that up. Toddy and Defoe are both wasted loads of chances but because they got more chances in the same game and scored those everybody convieniently forgets the misses. Give Defoe half a dozen chances in a game he might score a couple but give him just one chance and you have as much chance of him putting it over the bar as hitting the target.

and the mahoto is on numerous online papers just google his name. another highly rated prospect given away

With the most inefficient strikers in the PL we need to create the chances, I can't see that 1 up front is going to do that; if they only score 1 in 7 chances ( a stat I read somewhere) then we are stuck with what we have and need to make more than 7 chances. For me it needs a change in the managers mind set; gent that he is.

im not buying the Kezman and Fernandes rumours either as they are actually good players, that if available would have gone to good teams to get paid !!

Mahoto looked a very good prospect - very precise passer... that's very disopointing if we sold him too.

I though Mahoto played well against Rangers too and when he came on against Hereford .. still never really saw enough of him to make a real judgement.. and in fairness not every kid makes it through the ranks

To be honest it does not matter who we are left with. We have what we have and it's up to the fans to get behind every single one of them, whether thats Utaka, Dindane, Ben Haim, Mokoena or even Mullins. We as fans can not afford to vent our fury on any player. If a player makes a mistake it is up to us to raise their confidence and make sure that they are giving everything they are capable of giving. Dindane and Utaka have both shown they have the quality if not the consistency so lets help them find the consistency by not getting on their backs when something doesn't work out. Ben Haim was a class defender at Bolton but his confidence took a knock so lets build it up again. If we do our job properly maybe we can help the team find that little extra and turn some of these narrow defeats into wins, just a couple of wins and things could look a hell of a lot better.

Sorry Chix, however, it's hearsay that Storrie argued with Agouzy late into the night. Anyway he lost didn't he because Berko was transferred. I don't like anything about these new owners and this bloke Agouzy seems empowered beyond belief. If Storrie had anything about him he would resign, as he has said already "his position in untenable" Unfortunatley he is like a beached Whale, flapping about without any power at all. As for better the devil you know, well I take issue with that, from what we know now he has done a pretty miserable job hasn't he, bad deals, ignored the Inland Revenue, recruited SAF, and Al Faraj, made a mess of the finances when he controlled them, Takes £1.4m a year for doing f all. Chix, don't be soft on the guy, it's business.
