'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Some 'good news!'

I think at the moment we have to take whatever 'good news' we can, and that news - on the playing side of things - is that Jamie O'Hara is back with Pompey.

Sky sports have been saying this today but I have had it confirmed that he is back 'training with Pompey,' and despite a lack of official confirmation on The Pompey Site he has 're-signed' on loan.

I would think he 'should' be eligible for Citeh on Sunday then?

Although since writing this something has now been added, see below...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

O'Hara Rejoins Pompey On Loan

Jamie O'Hara has rejoined Pompey on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old midfielder made 14 appearances for the Blues in the first half of the season, making his debut in a 3-2 home defeat to Bolton in September.

His only Pompey goal to date came in a 3-1 loss at Blackburn in November.

O'Hara joined Tottenham's academy in 2003 and has made 56 appearances for the north London side, scoring seven goals.

He made his Spurs debut in a 1-0 victory over Pompey at Fratton Park in December 2007 and was named the club's 2007/08 young-player-of-the-season.

Prior to that, he enjoyed successful loan spells with Chesterfield and Millwall.

It's good he's back but it's probably cost us the best young keeper in the country

Brilliant news!
PompeyFcMad
We cant change anything unless we successfully offload the Arab Family. So we have to stay possitive and feed on the good bits of news as they come about.
Midge
It'll be good to see a bit of sparkle back in midfield and hoepfully his presence will mean that Boateng gets back to his best too..

Guys - I have to say as a Spurs Fan I feel really sorry about your situation. Bad Financial management is not the fans fault. I wish Harry would do you guys a favour (and us) and loan out some of our other talent to help you. If we are back in for Kaboul a loan back deal would be fine for us as we (touch wood) have defensive cover. I hope you guys survive financially and stay in the Prem.....best of luck
Storm Trooper
Does he know he won't get paid!!
eastneydave
Whilst this is good news, WTF, why would you want to come to a club which is being run by the same family which runs Billy Smarts ciricus. Welcome back Jamie, I hope you know what you have returned to!
bluedr
For the simple fact that I won't have to listen to that stupid bell ringing every time you play, I hope you go down
Etrilad
There but for the grace of God! Good luck Pompey I wish you well and Jamie is a great player and a great guy I hope he can help keep you up and the fortunes of your financial plight gets resolved - Good luck!
michael.thfc
Yeah Etrilad and when we're done with the Bell i'm gonna come and hunt you down and shove the bell so far up your asp your mummy will know when you do a number two, because your asp will be ringing like your balls!...And the way I feel right now I wouldn't even wait until we've finished with it!
pentonpompey
The only thing I'd class as good news at the moment is Roman Abramovich ditching Chelsea to rescue us!
Steve C
Some more bad news, poor betrayed Pete is so,so,so upset HE's STAYING
russellm
But whatever ***** that's going on, it GOTTA be better with Sir James of O'Hara with us, no?
hammersmithblue
At least O'Hara will get paid, unlike the permanent players at Pompey ..another late payment today Paul Jewell was saying the other night that loanees get paid by the parent club and the wage's are billed to the borrowing club at end of season
yellowcheesemonkey
so with most our team loan players our wage bill should be alot easier to pay ... but we get billed at the end of the season..
pompeyhussler
The rate we're going Hussler, that will be Feb 11th then Haha
pentonpompey
this is a good move for jamie. On and off the pitch it will certainly be an education.
oxfordspur
As we won't be around at the end of the season it's win win for the Arabs to get loan players in then.
Steve C
have to say im loving your poll on the right.lol but on a more serious note there has to start being some regulations in football club ownership.

Him and Boateng in midfield for you will be a good partnership. Indeed there is atleast one other youngster Naughton who could do with the experience and probably help no end in your plight aswell. Naughton was wanted by the likes of Everton and Hull in the summer not to mention a plethora of clubs now from the fizzy league. Unless Hutton goes, will not get games with us this season, thus would be perfect for him to go down to you with JOH and get vital experience. Very similar to Johnson by all accounts, pacy likes to get forwards, etc. Think he would be a great addition to your fight. We have others like Bostock and Rose but they are too in-experienced for the battle, but think Naughton could actually cope with the pressure as proved himself last season as a top player at Sheff Utd. If Begovic coming and James goes elsewhere, we also have Alnwick who could co with games etc and would be perfect back-up for Niemi. As for Kaboul and Begovic - put it this way, better they are sold now and you get some money and avoid administration etc and being docked 10 points, than you go into admin, get 10 points dropped and they are sold anyway. Look at Palace cannot use Moses in case gets injured as is there most valued commodity. Imagine you keep them, go into admin and then outside window so cannot sell them, yet not allowed to play them in case get injured!!! Sell them get some money in, get some loan signings in and fight to stay up and then see where you are in the summer!!! Begovic cannot even play for us this season apparently anyway, so we buy him and loan him straight back. As for Kaboul, again we could buy him and loan him straight back aswell as we are not desperate at the moment for defensive cover, Daws, Bass are fit and OK and Leds is available if every 1-2 weeks. You lot get some much needed dough, get to keep your players until the summer and also get naughton and JOH in on loan. Not bad all way round really.
