Official word does exist then...
With The Pompey Site up and running again, at least for now, the club has FINALLY 'officially confirmed' the departure of Mike Williamson to Newcastle.
No fee, no thanks or no good luck message was offered to Williamson with the following 'statement' issued...
Williamson Joins Newcastle
Mike Williamson has signed for Championship leaders Newcastle United.
The 26-year-old defender joined Pompey from Watford at the beginning of the season but did not make a first-team start for the Blues.
The former Torquay and Wycombe centre-back did make five appearances for the reserves, his last appearance coming in a 1-1 draw against West Ham earlier in the month.
Williamson has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Tyneside club.

Owusu Abeyie Joins Pompey On Loan
Pompey have signed Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Owusu-Abeyie on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old has plenty of experience of English football, having played for Arsenal and Birmingham in the past.
And now he is looking forward to helping Pompey preserve their top-flight status.
During his time with the Russian outfit, Owusu-Abeyie - who can also play out wide - has also had loan spells with Celta Vigo, Birmingham and Cardiff.
He has represented the Netherlands at youth and under-21 levels but switched nationalities to play for Ghana and played for the Black Stars at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.

Maybe we will get some 'official word' on Younes Kaboul and Asmir Begovic being sold in the not to distant future?
Then again we will probably see Younes pulling on the Spurs shirt again before this is 'confirmed!'
The mouse matt that my mouse is sat on has the Pompey crest with "Pompey" in big letters and the words "The South's only Premiership Team," good God this is only in name alone now as we come across like a tin pot organisation that is a million miles away from a 'Premiership' outfit...
But they are still OUR tin pot outfit, if only those 'running' us could understand how important it is to us!
