Transfer Embargo Lifted

Transfer Embargo Lifted

Not much time so just a link to confirm what The News are also breaking with..

Avram Grant has been given the green light to delve into the transfer market after Pompey's embargo was lifted.

he News can reveal the Premier League gave the Blues the thumbs up after noon, having received satisfactory documentation from Udinese.

The Italian club have come to an agreement with Pompey over money owed for Sulley Muntari and that has been rubberstamped by league chiefs.

They will also return around £1.6m owed to the Blues, Sky television money they had previously withheld.

It means finally, after 103 days of waiting, the Blues can register players once again.

And executive director Mark Jacob was delighted with the news.

He told The News: 'We have been working very, very hard behind the scenes and are delighted the embargo has now been lifted.

'It will now enable Avram Grant to strengthen the squad where necessary.

'This is another piece of the jigsaw we are trying to put back together.

'I sincerely hope supporters can get fully behind the team tonight against West Ham for what is a crucial match and generate that Fratton fortress atmosphere once again.'

The Premier League are expected to confirm the transfer embargo has been lifted in an official statement this afternoon.

Well boys and girls we can deal ..but let's keep our feet firmly on the ground .. a few freebies and a few loanees is surely the best we can expect .. but then again anybody to bolster the ranks will be good right ?

Deadline for Grants "already agreed players" to be registered, so they could play tonight was rumoured to be 1:30pm, they removed embargo After 1:30? Not insinuating they are giving their beloved Hammers a helping hand, but stinks on the timing me thinks????

Could this be good news week???(fingers crossed) Last week was almost comical but this week..On Sunday we get a south coast derby in the cuo (first real 'yes! moment this season) Now today we get the emargo lifted. Even if this only means a few frees or loans it is good progress

Midge .. they said yes .. just after 12:30 I've heard..so I wouldn't expect anything sinister.. that said if there were lined up everything would be signed ready to go and it would just have to be faxed through.. Might get one (O'Hara) in time for Saturday though !

Should Portsmouth progress through to an FA Cup quarter final from the 2016/17 season onwards, the game will no longer be subject to a replay.

Chesterfield's O'Shea targeted

Although so far Pompey have had two bids turned down for Chesterfield's O'Shea. Will, assuming another bid (as it's expected) is made, it be third time luck for the Blues?

It wasn't Real Madrid but Bristol City isn't bad!

Contrary to what I just wrote (muppet that I am) this isn't at Fratton this is at Ashton Gate with Pompey heading to Bristol City on Saturday 30th July, with a 3pm kick-off.
