I am not quite sure where Tribal Football got their 'quotes' from or where the 'rumours' have originated but 'apparently' Italian giants Milan, Inter and Juventus are 'on alert' for Hassan Yebda...
He is billed as 'Portsmouth star,' he is not our player though is he; he is merely on loan from Benfica. I would not also say he has been a 'star', granted I quite like the guy but would not say that he has shone enough to impress the likes of the Italians 'linked', and apparently - according to word on the street - Arsenal last week.
Anyway, he is 'claimed' to have said this: 'there are still two weeks of the transfer window. I am now focused on the national team.
'After the African Cup of Nations, I return to Portsmouth. Then we'll see.'
I would imagine that we paid, if we have paid yet, a loan fee to Benfica so would we really want to write this off and let him return to Benfica, then to be sold to someone else?
I guess, and with most loan players, how much we have paid - or agreed to pay - and are paying towards wages could be a defining point?
Either way I would be very surprised to see Yebda end up at any of those clubs supposedly 'linked' with him to be honest...
Speaking of Inter, this brings us on to more 'depressing news', Sulley Muntari - of course now of Inter - was signed from Udinese and they are going to 'the Court of Arbitration for Sport' in regards to fees that we owe them, be this from when we signed him in 2007 or sell-on amounts.
£3.5m of the £7m we agreed with them for Muntari is 'meant' to have still has not been paid and it seems they want the full amount now and are not willing to renegotiate over terms of payment anymore?
'If' we settled with the Italians then our ban of registering players is 'expected' to be lifted - the simple solution is for bills to be paid up, although this does not seem to be something that the owners are willing/able to do at this time for whatever reason...
Basically just another day in the life of Portsmouth Football Club really!
