Transfer embargo STAYS in place?

According to The News the premier league have REFUSED to lift the transfer embargo that Mark Jacob said he felt would be lifted 'imminently'...

Pompey had to prove that they had paid off all current debts to British and overseas clubs, which we are thought to have managed to do via the passing on of TV money, but it is 'claimed' that a fee to Udinese for Sulley Muntari has proven our undoing.

Is this REALLY a surprise guys?

In all honesty did anyone really think that we would see this lifted - and even if we did would anyone really have expected us to spend money?

I still think that we 'should' be able to bring in free agents and do some loan moves as we are so severely hamstrung, and most probably will be even worse off come the end of the month it is hardly a level playing field is it...

We were questioned by the PFA recently about our actions, non-payment of wages - which IS bad - meaning that the 'integrity of the game' could be questioned as 'perhaps' our players would not give everything meaning that the outcome of some games could be affected due to this.

So, I say does the continued restraints in not allowing us to AT LEAST register free agents or bring in some loans not bring into question the 'integrity' of the premier league?

Is, what is most likely 'probably' going to be a real, real thread bare side not going to be questioned by some opponents we face, compared to what others might have already faced?

Yep, I know it is clutching at straws, and we must remember that those previously and currently in charge are the source of the problems, but this only seems to further my thoughts - which were said to be paranoid - that the premier league has NO intention of giving us any help whatsoever as they are desperate for us to get relegated so they can rid 'the best league in the world' of our foul stench...

Of course things could be made a whole lot easier if those running us now just put up what is needed!

is there any sign of a real wad of cash actually being out up or is it dark days ahead?

all signs 'seem' to point very much to dark days merlin...i am struggling more and more, and i am usually pretty upbeat and positive, to see a way out for us - and i am not talking just about survival this season!

How can the Fa or Fifa for that matter, let a club sell a player they haven't paid for? surely when the player is sold on they should be something in place to make sure the original club is paid up first, if you a buy a car you can't sell it if there is finance attached to it, should be the same here.

As said in an earlier thread, they want shot of us guys, and without taking points this is the next best thing,I wouldnt be surprised if the EPL are trying their hardest to convince us to go into administration to gaurauntee our stay in the premiership ends this season.

Apparently the league require documentation of the proof that udinese are prepared to difer payments. Apparently aswell,Avram has a german international lined up as one of his targets. Gotta be dietmar harman then eh?

Hate to say it, but in our current situation, that IS the right decision. Until we can prove that we can meet our current payment demands, we should not be allowed to spend further. PUP !!

It seems the PL have no right of involvement with an over seas deal but no one n the industry cares. I think scudamore wants us relegated no natter what ! As I said before it's illegal but who cares now . Storrie has taken us to that bext level; thanks Pete!

Even if it was lifted, you have to ask youself what half decent player will come here with all this chaos going on. With agents managing the players, we would struggle to convince either that Pompey is the place to be. I fear it will get a lot worse before it get's any better.

Jason & Russell, Sorry but you're talking rubbish with this persecution complex about the EPL just wanting rid of us. Maybe they do but, frankly with good reason. We are a total shambles and and morally and well as financially bankrupt. No-one in the business world would have been allowed to carry on like this. Yes, we should be bloody angry but stop blaming anyone outside PFC - this is entirely of the making of the previous and, indeed, current regimes. The EPL may be a bunch of incompetent blazers but they cannot, despite the pathetic fit & proper persons test, be culpable. The transfer embargo and relegation are the very least of our worries. It will get worse but my fear is that it may never get better. There's a lot more debt to be revealed yet, that's for sure.
