Williamson on his way?
Mike Williamson, the '£3m' signing from Watford, could be on the move WITHOUT ever kicking a ball for Pompey!
His arrival was something of a surprise, but his lack of appearances has just been 'puzzling' to say they least and he 'could' be on the move to Newcastle, at least this is what sky sports 'understands'...
A loan move to the Championship leaders is 'said' to be the option that they prefer although 'if the price is right' they could look into a permanent signing?
To be honest I cannot see a loan doing him any harm as we clearly are NOT going to be giving him and 1st team football anytime soon - he is not even getting a look-in for the FA cup!
I would image that we quite clearly activate some form of 'fast tracked payment' to Watford if he plays a competitive game for us, right? Hence his lack of involvement.
'If' we did sell surely we could not sell as a loss after less than 6-months, that would just be ludicrous, then again I guess the deal is worth 'up to £3m' so how much would we lose, depending on what had been paid 'up front'...
Another of our defenders, and our 'star defender' at that, Younes Kaboul continues to be 'linked' with an exit and according to The Mail Lille have 'joined the race' for his signature, a queue that is 'said' to contain Citeh, Sunderland and Lyon already.
£9m is claimed to be on the table, but we will knock this back - as we are supposed to have knocked back larger bids already - in favour of more money, closer to the £14m price tag given. There is no mention that we have knocked back because he is not for sale, although to be fair every player has a price!
I guess time will tell on this issue, as it will the thoughts of us taking our 'fight' with the premier league over withheld money and the continued transfer embargo to a court of arbitration to get a 'third party' to rule on this.
Although this issue is 'said' to be coming to a head sooner rather than later, or this action will happen, even though it would cause further delays to a decision on what happens...

Good for Williamson to go on loan we may get a clue as to his future usefullness if as I am starting to assume the likelyhood is we are relegated. for YK I understand we are being offered money plus player which is off little use if we are embargoed. As I said I think the club are now planning for life in the lower divisions.

vital watford at the time we purchased him was that he was not good enough for the championship let alone the premier league. They also labled him as arrogant and above his station, they were doubfull about smith's ability in the big league...i suspect that they were right and we have quite possibly wasted £3ml

if they offer 2m accept it ,... he aint even played yet so would rather sell him and then keep kaboul.. 2m will lift the embargo then we can all get excited about signing some fees and loans... wooohooo

Williamson has been immense in the stiffs .. Why he doesn't feature in lesser games or even as the ocassional sub is beyond me (I don't hold with the appearance money theory) .. As for Janice he'll go somewhere but the longer the window is open the more clubs will pay (hopefully) so expect £10m at least .. even though I don't think he's worth that

I have no idea why we spent 3 mil on this guy, i was dubious about boateng for 4 mil but he's been outstanding. Signings like that are the reason we are in this mess along with stupid wage packets.

As I have said for a while,when I have seen Williamson and my mate who is a season ticket holder at Watford has told me he can play and is half decent.

Rumour has it you guys owe Watford another £800k for Willo in 2 weeks time with the final payment due in July... If you get rid the deal still stands with Watford. Malky Mackay wants Williamson back - maybe he should just send the boys round and repossess.

Let Williamson go, recoup the money to be paid, no huge loss, why hasnt he featured, either he is actually an arrogant gobby git, or Avram doesnt rate him, maybe a bit of both! I would like to see Kaboul stay, and Belhadj as it goes, but all of this is really quite insignificant at this stage, until we find out what is happening with the transfer embargo, the finances at our club, what are owners are actually doing (weve already won the prize for the worst run club in the universe, so you can start running it properly now!!!!) all of this is pretty academic. I hate being this depressed about my beloved football club!!
