Belhadj off/More James reports/Hurst suspended
Nadir Belhadj has been linked with a move to several premier league clubs including Spurs, Everton, Blackburn and Birmingham although today it is 'claimed' in The Mirror that Benfica have 'come in with a £3m' bid for him?
He is probably one of the players we would be expecting to lose this month - of course we already have to the African nations - but are we that much in need of his departure that we would take a £1m loss on him?
While David James, who saw his move to Stoke fall through last week and was only yesterday 'claimed' to be subject of a possible deal resurrection from them, is YET AGAIN being 'linked' with Spurs!
Daniel Levy is 'said' to be the man that Harry Redknapp needs to 'convince' about this move to make it happen, but they 'could' offer a better financial deal to suit us, but will it suit them...
Whatever, and wherever James is going - and going still looks the most probable outcome - lets just get it over and done with eh!
And finally, also in The Mirror like everything else today, James Hurst has apparently been suspended by the club?
The talented, and I am sure this kid does have a bright future ahead of him, defender is 'said' to have been caught out, like so many, broadcasting his thoughts to the world on Facebook - it is either Facebook or Twitter that catches out so many, young and old!
He apparently wrote 'I hope we lose today' ahead of our game against Arsenal - I guess he would have been happy as we did, but then again I suspect that he has been slapped with a hefty fine and perhaps his Pompey career is now over?
The guy is only 17, so he is young and youngsters all make mistakes, but I do not think that we will need much excuse these days to save some money - it is a tough one, like I say I think he will be a fantastic football, but there must be club discipline.
Lets just hope that he learns from his mistake and he still has a future at the club? That old phrase 'cutting of your nose to spite your face' springs to mind...

where you leave yourself logged in to facebook, but go out. someone else comes along, see facebook is logged in, and changes the status. It's pretty common...

if we get offerd 3.5 million for belhadj except it take a 500k hit on him we need the money and would rather have the cash and transfer ban lifted. . . . plus put it towards buying ohara.. 5m

It's all very well taking the money for Belhadj as long as you have the ability to replace one of the only attacking outlets we have !! James is replaced by Begovic (as long as they can keep hold of him). James Hurst is guilty of being a teenager, but hope he learns his lesson. PUP

I hope that we can afford to keep Belhadj. He if played as a winger rather than defender can create all sorts of problems for a defence with his pace and he has got one hell of a shot on him as well. Can't see Levy letting Harry buy in James as what is he going to be worth in a season or two's time? In fairness the same as with us and Begovic, would Spuds fans want Gomez out the squad and James in? I wouldn't

Although Belhadj's attitude have left him a fringe player, I think he has a real flair and excitement few, if any, others at the club have. Would hate to see him go.

we need to offload a few players i think belhadj, james, nugent & kaboul for the right fees.The the transfer embargo will be lifted and Avram can then bring in the players he wants. Hopefully this week for the next game. Avram though should have the say which players he doesnt mind losing and if the fee is right then why not. We have to be realistic. Is ohara worth 5million, that would be all our transfer money gone?

Keep Utaka, i think he will come good under Avram and he looked good the other night for us. Stick him up front with piquionne.

Also heard that the magpies might be interested in Williamson, can we not loan him out because he never gets a game anyway and surely this would reduce our wage bill further (although if we sell Kaboul we may well need him) just need to make sure we can recall him if required.

Perhaps a swop with Yebda? That would be a better deal I suspect.

We need the money we paid for Belhadj ( and that won't cover the fees) but if he goes I assume the club has accepted relegation.
