Top Striker Enquiry 'Andy Johnson'

Top Striker Enquiry 'Andy Johnson'

Andy Johnson will become Harry Redknapps first target this summer. He is expected to cost in the region of 8 million pounds.

Harry has been told he has 10 million to get two strikers.

He can have 8 million to tie up D’Alesandro, Routledge and Koroman.

He can have a further 7 million to spend on defenders.

Harry Redknapp will make an enquiry for Andy some time this summer but I expect this to happen in the next 48 hours. The Crystal Palace chairman is expected to turn down the enquiry. This is however expected and Portsmouth will offer an initial bid in the region of seven million.

Andy Johnson is on standby for this World Cup and although he has just signed a new deal with Crystal Palace, Portsmouth offer him the chance to return that he thought he would get through Palace this year. (They lost 3-0 to Watford)

Make no doubt about it Portsmouth will be going after Andy Johnson, the only thing I’m not sure about is when Portsmouth will make their move.

Your Vital Pompey site will be revealing four more transfer targets in the next week. Keep reading, we don’t make it up!

Not after watching him last night! Marlon King was far better and would be a fration of the price. Still would signal some serious intent

Your joking les aren't you? 8 mill for johnson, leaving 2 million fo a.n. other? 8 mill for D'ale, rout and koro? Absolutely no chance. D'ale will be 5 - 6 alone. What we need is a decent defensive coach and a hatful of defenders who can defend. If they are his plans for next year, then i reckon we are in for another roller coaster of a ride.

The 8 million isn’t part of the story, it is my opinion about how much he will cost. With that chairmen and a player who has a long contract such as Andy I believe it could be as much as 8 mill. You say only two mill for another but that two mill could buy someone like Trundle or Hesky. The strike force of Johnson, Benjani, Lua Lua, Trundle and Toddy will definitely do the business. You say no chance to tying up D’Alesandro, Routledge and Korroman. A) I didn’t say that he has to sign all three with 8 mill. D’Alesandro 5 mill, Routledge 3 mill and I expect Korroman to join on loan for another year. You say these plans worry you fen but 25million is a lot of money!

Les, they worry me because its a team full of forwards. Who the f**k is going to stop us losing every game 8-5 or something similar. I know its opinions les, but how can you honestly think trundle will fit in there? Put him and lua lua together and no one else would even get the ball, let alone a pass.
