Match Off!! Ticket Update

After recent snow has melted and now heavy rain, the game is postponed, not great but at least we un-defeat in 2010!

Just got acknowledgement form Chix on the matter, another game bites the dust, and rather than a match preview I'm typing a match obituary!

For those on the march, I'm afraid I have no news on if it is still going ahead, the weather may have accounted for a small turn-out anyway, so maybe it has given the club breathing space, or a chance for the protest to gain steam.

Birmingham Ticket Information

Tickets for Pompey's postponed Premier League clash with Birmingham at Fratton Park will be valid for the rearranged fixture.

The match was due to be played on Saturday, January 16 but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Tickets that were due to be collected will now be sent out in the post.

its a bloody joke tho isnt it - but not a funny one!

i cannot believe that we still have nothing official - on the site - announced, that is poor!
as i say this is an absolute joke altho to be fair I would guess that it was the referee that called the game off, that said surely a premier league side should not be seeing games called off for waterlogged pitches, right?

by the close of play this weekend we are likely to be cut further adrift and of course we will be slapped with a fine for not being able to get this game to go ahead I assume...

who was it that joked about Jacobs trying to cancel every game of January? cause i think they might have been on to something lol. but yea rug its an absolute joke but with the extreme weather you can't really blame the club expect for the fact they have said nothing offically yet!

I think we were also the last PL club to have a game called off for a waterlogged pitch. Arsenal, quite close to kick off.

I had a phone call from someone called Lucy from PFC to tell me personally that the match has been cancelled. Hows that for efficiency then?

INspection was at 10, decision made shortly after, on site by 10:15? so if others heard aerlier than 10, i asuspect it was just presumed due to waterlogging?

The good news though is that the table might look a little better tonight.. we could be four points adrift.. with a game in hand!! Somehow sounds better doesn't it .. let's hope the results go our way

I did warn Rug about this last night. Problem was the cover on the pitch for too long. When it came off the pitch had not be able to breath and was described as a muddy bog. On top of that Pompey trained on it on Thursday and planned to on Friday until chased off by the groundsman.

That was a fantastic 3 and a half hour round trip for nowt! Set off from Surbiton on train at 1030, found out after Woking so couldnt get off train til Winchester! Then had to wait for train surrounded by a few scummers heading up to Millwall and just got in. Do you think there's much chance of getting a refund from the club? Hmmm? Off to watch some 'grass roots' proper football now if I can...AFC Wimbledon v Mansfield in the Blue Square Prem! 4th v 5th. That's if this incessant rain stops. Surely, I can't be THAT unlucky to try and go to two matches in one day, and BOTH matches get called off? Can I?

I'm just hoping that it's a blessing in disguise...with a bit of luck all this finance nonsense will be sorted once and for all which will mean the Birmingham game, a 'must win' game, can take place when the players' and fans' confidence is better than now.

I was at Waterloo having just bought my ticket at 10.30 when my mum phoned to say it was off. Noting that there were a few Brummies milling around, I told the station information person that it might be a good idea to make an announcement (yes, yes, I know it was bossy but I AM a teacher) but by the time my train pulled out at 11am there had been no announcement and a few Brummies on the train who I told about it were well *****ed off.
