Pulis confirms James talks

David James' move away from Pompey looks to have moved a step closer after former Pompey manager Tony Pulis confirmed that talks are talking place regarding a move to Stoke: 'we have made an enquiry for David and the chief executive (Tony Scholes) is talking to Peter Storrie at Portsmouth as we speak.

'We'll have to see what happens, but there could be other clubs in for him.'

As said previously I still think that James is a fantastic keeper but do think that it is in the best interests of everyone that he moves on now to be honest - wages, and who pays them/how much, could be an issue though...

Loan deal to cut Pompey's wages bill by a massive amount. Beg will have to step up to the mark!

As long as they pay all his wages; we need the saving. Good luck to him I will miss the saves but won't miss the moaning.

Pompey will not be weakened by him leaving.

"Beg will have to step up to the mark!" Does he? Personally I think he just needs to keep up his current form.

Just confirmed, he's gone on loan, each club paying 50% of wage. Cheers Jamo. Play Up Begovic !!

Probably my favourite Pompey player ever, very sorry to see him go - and watching the players warm up will never be the same again. I truly believe he is the best goalkeeper Pompey have ever had and ever will. But we've been expecting him to go, understand the need for it, and I have been impressed by Begovic, so we'll be in good hands. I hope he does well and plays in the world cup, like he deserves to.

WE DONT GET A LOAN FEE AND WE PAY 50% OF HIS WAGES .. good old pompey get a crap deal again .....

Hussler I was coming back on to say the same - surely the point of offloading our best players is to get some cash - and a loan fee is usual. This is an appalling bit of business by the clowns in charge of the club. I'm horrified that we have let England's No.1 go to one of our rivals so cheaply.
