And the winner is …
Wow what a week I've had reviewing at all your answers to the questions I set.
But we do have an outright winner.
Well done to .. wait for it !
The questions were varied as I said they would be. Some hard some not so hard and on the whole most of you got some pretty impressive scores except perhaps PompeyMad who only got one correct answer, although he may claim that he only answered one question!
The question that stumped most people was Q3 'The odd man out' Some of the answers were feasible (ish); Sulley Muntari being the only African, or Noe Pamarot as the only defender whereas some were just wrong; Sea-Juicer was convinced Jerome Thomas was the only loanee .. (erm Michael Brown anybody?), but two people were correct to spot that in fact it was Richard Hughes as the 'odd man out' …although not for the reason PFCBlue gave!
Q4. 'The Dickens Quote' was another that stumped a lot of people. Most guessed at David James but despite Jason R's reasoning that "he's a boring shite who does stuff like that" were marked wrong. As we know England's No.1 is a collector of Action Man rather than a reader of classics
Another question that got you thinking was Q9. The 'True of False non-league opposition question' Most were right, but some guessed wrong but one answer from PFCBlue had me running to the history books - Newton Heath indeed!
Anyway, enough of this commentary, let's look at the scores.
Notable applause should go to Olir01 (previously Pompeychimes), Pastyman72 and Wellyit for a highly commendable score of 9 out of 10. PompeyCarpet would have also made that list had he been able to add up. (Carps you forgot to add in this seasons goals scored !)
Others on 8 out of 10 included PFCBlue, pompeymart1965 and the entire Toast Team (including Eastneydave) - A morale victory for me there I think !
Those on 7's included PFC Gino who used a recent illness to try a sway my good nature over a couple of incorrect answers, BarneyArmy who acted as my 'hardness barometer' throughout the quiz, Jason R who wanted to change his answers and Sea-Juicer who had he not got bored of looking for the answer to Q10 could have gained another point.
A whole host scored 6 or below and fair few failed to submit ten answers - Still it's the taking part that counts and a good number of you took part.
So all that remains is to announce that the winner of the ticket to accompany the lovely Gandor to Fratton Park on Saturday and share champagne on arrival, roast lunch and a seat on the Fratton End 18 Yard box is ….Sneakay with a remarkable 10 out of 10 but I won't share the fact that he told me he spent five hours trying to work out Q4 before submitting his answer.
So well done Sneakay in fact well done everybody.
All that remains to do is thank Gandor for donating the prize, thank everybody for taking part and wish Sneakay and Gandor a great day on Saturday. Let's hope Pompey get the three points.
Finally, I should state that all the answers will be available on a thread in the forum later today - I do not publish them on the front page as they end up copied and pasted into other publications with somebody else's name on them.

Non league clubs in the FA Cup is a slightly misleading question as it should say 'After Pompey gained league status in 1920 ...
Now had the Toast team won they would have passed the prize on as we have season tickets and thought it unfair but we needed to have a go.
Once again well done sneaks!!
