'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coventry v Pompey - Game on!

Finally, hopefully, we can get back to talking about football - even if it is just for a while - as we have our FA cup 3rd round reply against Coventry tomorrow night, and this WILL go ahead according to Coventry officials...

Despite weather conditions affecting so many games at the weekend Coventry were able to play their championship game at the weekend and they remain confident, with Anthony Mundy - facilities director at the Ricoh Arena - telling the official Coventry site that the game will go ahead: 'the FA Cup tie against Portsmouth is definitely on unless there are any major changes to the weather - but that is not predicted.

'The ground staff and stewards worked through the night on Friday to make sure the pitch was playable and the car-parks and pavements cleared.

'We have received numerous emails from supporters, and in particular disabled fans, praising our efforts to make the pathways as snow and frost free as possible.

'These efforts will again be repeated ahead of the game. The car-parks have been covered by the snow which fell on Sunday night but these will be gritted in time for kick-off.

'We have never had a game postponed at the Ricoh Arena since we moved here in 2005 and that is a record we are determined to continue.'

So, it is looking good for Pompey playing a game, which seems an age ago since the last one against Coventry!

Now I just have the problem of getting there myself - at this point in time Ken is unable to even get off his drive, so we are looking 50:50 at best I would guess...

Well Coventry were one of the few clubs who DID play on the weekend. And it was at the Richo aswell. So I expected the game to be on. And its great that we can watch Pompey again, after a weekend with no game.

Isn't tomorrow the 12th D Day?...Blimey what a day that could turn out to be! Win and the board sort things out and it's feel good party time! lose and the board foul things up and i can see nothing stopping the Protests at the weekend!...Alot rides on tomorrow. Going to be a tough game, Coventry are no mugs and are going to be up for it as well; They must see us as ripe for the taking. Not sure what's going to happen off the pitch, but on it I see us getting knocked out i'm afraid.

I'm with you Penton and would take a narrow defeat, we have bigger issues to worry about and that Bloody FA Cup has a lot to answer for where Pompey are concerned. 1-0 defeat, last minute pen.

What a pleasure it must be to support a well organised club in a nice new stadium who ensure they do everything possible to get the match on and go the extra mile for their supporters... I can but dream.

Funny how proffesional Coventry compare to injured first team fulham ( tscchh now now Russ) in preparing for a game; was at craven on Saturday and there was no dangerous ice or lethal snow jst lots of happy people enjoying a peacefull afternoon. Well done the sky blues! I'm just worried Ax is fit to play again; ID rather have Nugent! Good comment Penton
