'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What Jacob's said to 5 Live...

An interview that Mark Jacob gave to Gary Richardson on Radio 5 Live was broadcast this morning.

If you missed it, there is a summary of this in the forum - which ALSO has a direct link to the interview, courtesy of pompeymart1965.

So, check this out - and more including some 'rumour' on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in a different thread but also in the forum - on this link here...

So even MJ is in the list of PFC personnel who haven't yet met the owner - strange!

As the expression goes: 'Actions speak louder than word'. The circus that has become PFC, where the lions & tigers have been replaced by camels & clowns, rolls on!!!

the link to pompey? dubai is in a finacial mess, from overspending, and had to be bailed out. Pompey is in finacial mess from overspending, and had to be bailed out. The guy owns a hoarse called "blue buyout". for some reason, mark jacob has got all excited, and clearly thinks some funding has apeared. this guys's been intrested in buying a football club before, and he has money. Some people ("aparantly" different sources) on at least two message boards heard from "source" that a deal was close, but nothing concrete.

How do these guys benefit from taking over a club with huge debts and hassle from the fans. I can't see how they can buy a club when they have no money!

as someone who lived in Dubai before SAF and ALF i can confirm pompey do pull in the viewers and what happens to the club is of great interest to the UAE, they see parallels small club/ country in the top league. i would be surpised if Sheik Mohammed bought a football club he's a bit quieter than that, though i could see one of the top 200 being permitted to do it.

I've listened to the interview, and there are still some causes for concern, including nobody being certain exactly how much debt there is. Also still unconvinced about the late payment of wages, how much money Faraj has and why he hasn't pitched up yet. It hasn't been snowing since October FFS! Hopefully we can give MJ the benefit of the doubt, and see things start to improve next week. But there was nothing on there about this new Sheikh wasisname? What's this all about?
