'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The 14m man?

Which way will you vote in the latest Vital Pompey poll, suggested by Chix, as we try to gage what people think of the apparent 'price' put on Younes Kaboul's head?

  • What the poll is asking

    Younes Kaboul: 14m - Take it ?

  • Which way to vote?

Will you go 'yes' as 14m is a good amount to put on his head as this at least gives clubs an idea of what we will accept for him - on the other hand perhaps that is an amount is given as it is meant to put off clubs interested as it is a 'he is not for sale' really figures?

Then again you might be of the we should turn down any amount offered for him and not even 14m would be enough, so 'no?'

For me, I do not know what to make of the 'ESPN source' that says we have put a 14m price on his head - is this because we are putting him in the shop window and looking to invite offers for him, or is this a 'he is not for sale' so putting such an amount really means that he is not for sell?

I would very much like to keep Younes but money talks, and if we did get offered something around 10m then I think - as much as it would leave us weaker as a result - we would have to take it, right?

Make sure you vote on this latest poll to your right, but share you views below too...

selling kaboul may well relegate us but it may well keep us up too. if grant is given the money to spend on the squad.. u could get 3 players to help keep us in the leauge with that. remember selling crouch for 6million to villa harry spent that to get us promoted. 1 player dosent make a team.
benni mcathey has to be targeted for 2million hes a bargain. wiltshire has been touted for bolton or burnley or wolves. surely he would prefer to stay down south and play a better style of football at pompey !! also withy the 10m for kaboul buy o hara for 5m then loan bentley
Key Key KEY player for us, given the other defensive options. Mind you, we'd have to accept 14 million whatever the circumstances wouldn't we?
If we have to sell then we have to sell. The higher the price the better. I think our survival as a club is more important than survival in the prem.
I just hope if we do sell him we get somewhere near the asking price.. Current reports (although only red-tops) suggest 7m !!..
As for the money, that will disappear surely to pay stuff, not all be spent on players!!?
Over to the manager then, this is where they earn their money!
More like 14 quid not worth that
    Tiny T
story got us a great deal on the johnson, diarra , muntari but sorted his old mate out with krankjar for 2m lets hope he has no friends at city.
who recons that nugent could be coyles first signing?? lets hope.
    pompeyhussler so funny sketch.
My hope too for Nugent to go to Bolton, at least they have some money to spend; unlike Burnley!
kaboul gone, ild get giovani dos santos, this vitor defender weve been linked with from benfica, vela or wiltshire on loan, and yes benni mcarthy is a goalscorer. And i do think now we have to get rid of james, his wages are just toomuch and he doesnt even play anymore, and he wants out, if his quotes are anything to go by.
hussler - ' surely he would prefer to stay down south and play a better style of football' really? Have you seen Burnley play in the last 2 years? Dont get me wrong, I dont think Wilshere will come to Burnley now Coyle has left, but to say we dont play a decent style of football - think you may be on your own with that one.
not when u get PAUL HART as your new manager
BURNLEY are doomed ! thats why he got out why he could. burnley, wolves, wigan teams to go down...
any of those 3 might go down hussler, you are correct - as could Pompey, Hull, Bolton, WHU, Stoke and maybe others I have forgotten. And we dont have Paul Hart as our manager and we do play good football - You wont find many who argue with it.
burnley don't play bad football - I can't argue with that. good though... i wouldn't pay to watch them. (wheras i wouldn't mind paying to se arsenal play). Anyway - 14million for kaboul, who could refuse? 7 million, I hope we arn't in such a bad mess that we'll accept something that low.
How much did you pay for Kaboul? I would have thought 7 would have been about the figure you should be looking for? But I dont see him every week.
we paid 5m but spurs paid 8.5million for him when he was french under 21 captain. hes only 23 ! so has a long future in the game would rather spend 9million on him than upson..
Claret for me, the point with Kaboul is he's one of our best players at the moment, plays with commitment and we need him. But if we're offered that kind of money, we'd take it, because we need the money, and least could use it to get other players in (hopefully). If he's worth 7mill, fine, he stays. As for Nugent, why do you think he would prefer to stay down south? He's very much a northerner who didn't really fit in here, and has said he wants to stay at Burnely. I'd be happy if we can sell him to either Burnley or Bolton - but we need a sale, the loan isn't much good to us, might as well get the player back. Especially if the transfer embargo continues.
tracy - I do not think that Nugent would prefer to stay south - I am almost certain he wants to be back in Lancashire. My comments about being down south was a copy of husslers comments about Wilshere.
No one is going to give us 14million when we are obviously so desperate for money! Can't wait for Nugget to come back to his spiritual home - I'll be playing a tiny little violin for him as he steps off the team bus
What is the point of selling any players, when Mark Jacob has stated that he does not know the amount of Pompey's debt. Kabouls selling value to the club in the present circumstances is immaterial unless it can be measured. As a man and a player that is a different matter.
14m is a hell of a lot od cash for Kaboul, a decent and improving player, but that is very steep, perhaps it is more about the city owners doing their mate a favour than anything.
As much as i like Younes 14m and he has to be sold He epitimises everything i want in a Pompey player, passion, pride and the ability is the bonus
