Today, well more to the point this afternoon/evening was meant to be the big day when Mark Jacob 'set the record straight' with what is happening with the 'mess' at Pompey - a mess that others had left behind that Ali Al Faraj was 'unaware of' when he took control of Pompey...
£40m is 'supposed' to be getting paid to creditors by Faraj by January 10th. And this statement, which I guess 'could' still arrive today, has so far FAILED to materialise.
Not ONLY has this statement of 'record setting straight' proportions not arrived the club failed to meet not 1 but 2 deadlines today to pay the players wages again, which will now be 'paid tomorrow' apparently...
You could say it was a joke, but a joke is supposed to be funny and the only ones having a laugh right now are just about every other football club around the world who look on as the piss poor state this club is in - then again I guess even some of these are not laughing as they NEED money from us too, so it does not leave them laughing!
Surely it is better, even though it is not good, to say nothing at all than make claims about 'this or that' happening if it is not going to, well something that at least does not look like happening anyway.
Is it any wonder that further protests etc. are planned - the next of which is a march ahead of the Birmingham game with that possible 'question mark' protest, or something similar, previously spoken about also set to take place.
Well, the clock is ticking, I guess technically we still have around 4-hours left of this day but I WILL NOT be holding my breath about any 'statement' arriving! I would clearly love this to be the case but can we seriously see this, following a lack of payment for the players again - which would again 'obviously' be due to some error on the part of someone else - happening?
Although it is now said that Daniel Azougy, you know that whiter than white guy the club have now hired, was WRONG to say there would be a statement as Jacob has denied this was going to be the case - it is fantastic to know that even those charged with 'running the club' are talking to one another to make sure they are all singing from the same 'hymn sheet'...
