Staff now paid

Staff now paid

The players, who I would suspect can afford to be without somewhat more - even though they should not have to of course - have still not been paid as yet but the clubs off-the-field staff has according to The News...

An 'error' was cited for this delays, although it is 'said' this money went into staff accounts at Midnight on Sunday - players and non-playing staff are paid on separate payrolls so we will find out tomorrow is the player wages go through I guess?

Like I say players, even if they should not have to, most likely can afford to be without for a little longer than the non-playing staff, many of who are no different to you or I in respect to how a non-payment affects them, so they are the true victims in this late payment and the ones I feel more sorry for.

God luck with any 'reimbursements' that they might need to get though...

At last, the train is moving again, albeit slowly.

I don't swallow the banking error theory .. but I do believe that what little money Pompey do have in an account is being drawn on at the last possible moment as not to lose interest on it .. 2 or 3 days interest on the players monthly salary check some months up and a thousand here and a thousand there all adds up .. Not fair on to ***** around with the normal folks pay check though... Hopefully this will be the last time we discuss staff non payment (fingers crossed)

My wallet was in error last night for my taxi ride home last night, it was short of one of those £5 files!

Hard to see if we can entice any players with the promise of paying them, late!!!

This is unbelievable. For the third time they have been late in paying salaries, and again they tried to blame a bank error. Then they have to take out a short-term loan to pay the salaries, and they don't seem to be doing this until after they are due. They know how much is due and when. If anybody doubts how bad the situation really is, they only have to look at this. And as for not 'showing their hand' with regard to the financial situation at the club, this exposes the hand very clearly, warts and all.

Time for another first team fire sale, you should be able to raise say another 10 million, that will keep the club running til February. See the TV money everyone was waiting on is going to Spurs and a few other clubs.
