Sunderland at Fratton 'if' we beat Coventry

Sunderland at Fratton 'if' we beat Coventry

After the FA cup 4th round draw we now know that Pompey have been drawn against Sunderland at Fratton Park, so long as we overcome Coventry in the 3rd replay at The Ricoh next week.

The draw could certainly have been a lot worse for us couldn't it, so a chance of making it into round 5 is possible...

One thing that is certain is we will not be going to Old Trafford at any stage in the tournament this time round - providing we stay in it - as Manyoo went out to Leeds today!

Arrr yes 'if'. Well 'if' we do win at Coventry, Sunderland will be a lot tougher. And 'if' we do play them, just who will be wearing blue on the day???

No probs. We'll win the replay 2-1 and then beat Sunderland 1-0.

A lot of "ifs" there, if we beat Coventry, if we still have enough players to field a team, if we haven't gone into administration etc etc.

Done Deal - Smith in permanently from Swindon

The interest Pompey retained in Smith, with him 'in our sights' has resulted in him returning to the Blues on a permanent basis after signing for an 'undisclosed fee' from Swindon.

Cushioning the blow

Much, that needed saying, about Webster's exit for Ipswich and the arrival of Clarke in return (and cash) has been said hasn't it? Doyle's been spot on with what he said.

Swindon striker in 'Pompey's sights'

Michel Smith, who was of course on loan last season, could return? He's still in 'Pompey's sights' by all accounts after Swindon informed him he's 'surplus to requirements' now.
