True in many ways I guess!
What does the wonderful world of Mark Lawrenson, the so-called BBC's 'expert pundit', have to offer us this time? Lets see...
Looking at his column on BBC Sport, Lawro's predictions - here, I see that the 'football expert' fancies us to lose against Arsenal tomorrow night.
Fair enough though, right?
This is what he said: 'I think the great worry with Portsmouth is that they have to create chances but Arsenal are experts in picking you off.
'Pompey are a little like West Ham in that it is about the bigger picture and what happens off the pitch in January. It is the biggest month in their history. If manager Avram Grant is told he has to sell players then it is all over.
'Arsenal are a really good team with a good manager, but when push comes to shove they have problems against the big teams. Teams who sit back against them can frustrate them and that is where they miss injured striker Robin van Persie.
'Verdict: 0-2'
Like I say, I think that it is fair enough what 'Lawro' says for this game - he is right in many respects, it is not often you can say that about the guy! We are approaching a 'make or break' month, if further 'assets are stripped' that is very much that...
Although, and yep I am as crazy as a junkyard dog, I feel that if we play like we did against Liverpool and get into the Arsenal faces we CAN win this game!
Arsenal have not always stood up to the 'physical' side of the game, whilst they hold their own better nowadays I would fancy us if we do get in their faces, without going to gun-ho to allow them to hit us on the break...

for once Lawro speaks alot of truth! I still say a 3-0 pasting for us. However! if we do a Liverpool and get at them then who knows? maybe just a 2-0 then haha

True 'dat....as a football fan, there really is nothing worse that your club can do to you than to keep you completely in the dark as to what's going on. Keeping the manager completely in the dark as well is inexcusable.
As for the result v the Gunners...well, I had us down to beat Liverpool, but not feeling the same level of optimism for this one - all being well, we might squeeze out a 1-1 draw but I fancy them to beat us.

god no, we wont win this one, they are far superior and not suffering from a poor manager/tactics like liverpool were.

I check Lawro out every week i'm surprised we are all still on blame the pundit. what is the rubbish ge talks woz it " Pompey are an improving team under grant"? Woz it" they don't play like a relegated team when they bother to turn up"? Woz it " the off the field problems are critically affecting the team"? Have those pundits sneaked an ACoN up on us as well? Or are we taking cheap shots rather than face up to facts. Good point

We have a game where we try to predict Lawro's predictions. Our match was the only one I guessed right this time. And he's probably not too far off the mark this time.
