Lens taking legal action to get paid

Word has grown around cyber and media worlds over the past 24-hours or so that Lens are taking legal action against Pompey for unpaid fees.

The French club have become so increasingly frustrated at the fact that we are 'said' to have failed to keep up with payments - although to be honest it sounds about right! - for Nadir Belhadj and pulled out of a deal to buy Aruna Dindane outright after he played 'X amount' of games that they are looking for the courts to settle this...

Lens president Gervais Martel is quoted in The Mail as saying: 'we are taking action through the European football tribunals as well as civil courts.'

Is this really a surprise? And is it really that hard to believe?

We KNOW that PFC has not paid clubs etc., so why should this be limited to English clubs alone...

'If/when' we get sorted out who in their right mind is going to do transfer dealings with Pompey again?

A 'disturbing' thing also included in that Mail report 'claims' that John Utaka is on £80,000 per week!

As much as I would HOPE that is not true, again, in all honesty knowing we have dished out some shockingly high wages over the past few years would that really be a surprise...

How deep does the rotten core of our club go? One thing out of all this, if we get stripped again, we will drop no doubt, how far is another matter, we could fall very far before things get better again, look at Leeds and scum, thing is I'm almost tempted to say I would swap with either of those right now!

HARRY REDKNAPP ! i know he has bought players like diarra and johnson where the club has made big profits on. but he evens this out and beyond with crap players on big money + long contracts like lauren, traore, utaka, nugent.

I moved away from Portsmouth just over two years ago but, true to form, continue to support my team from afar. What really hurts is the lack of information that is coming out of the club - and now we are really seeing what the value/cost of winning the FA Cup was. Not saying that I was very proud to see Sol lift the cup, or play AC Milan at Fratton Park - but would I trade that for administration - not sure? There is a deep rot in the club that someone has to get a handle on quickly before it is too late. Al Faraj was supposed to be rolling in money - so why does he keep getting loans. Is this all a game being played at he expense of loyal Pompey fans?? I am genuinely worried

I've said all along administration; and i've not changed my mind. Something is badly badly wrong and rotten at our club, and the stench is overwhelming!

Can't disagree with any views here. It is a very sad mess at FP and I can see no way out.

I believe we will go into administration but all the time SG has a toe in the running of the club he will strip as much as possible first, which makes it all the worst as it is just a time bomb waiting to happen. Also for anyone trying to blame twitchy for the mess we're in is ridiculous, i would love to hate him, but i am also positive he had noting to do with wages, length of contracts or even transfer fees. Altho he did sign a few duds, but that never put us in debt.

i am also positive he had noting to do with wages, length of contracts or even transfer fees im not, im pretty sure he would have pushed and pushed to get his man. hearing 'no harry you cant have him he wants 50 a week' im pretty certain harry would have said something, same goes with transfer fees.

Can we give both Belhadj and Dindane back, neither are worth paying for!!

Presumably we can't buy Dindane cos of the transfer embargo (a blessing in disguise!). The club is in a tangled web of owners, deceit, and incompetency.

I dont believe you can blame Arry. Yes he said he wanted this player and that player, but it was Sacha who controlled the purse strings, and knew what we could afford and what we couldn't, who agreed to them, and the transfer fees and wages. I remember being amazed we could afford 11M for Crouch, but I never thought for one minute that the club were getting players we couldn't afford and getting us in this much $h!te. I can see administration on the horizon - perhaps this is the start of it . .

ruffcider you are delusional in your comments. HR the monkey said who he wanted, SG the organ grinder with his equally delusional sidekick PS allowed him to do it, and not many coaches, managers whatever you want to call them deal with anything financial nowadays. only us as fans would possibly ask the owner of our club are we financially steup to take these purchases of players (if we were manger). so again without sounding like a HR fan how can you blame him (still a ****house tho)

i dont blame him solely, but he had his part to play aswell as the usual suspects you stated, all of them. i think youre delusional if you think that harry was the innocent lamb in all this. 'just a couple more players' rednapp knew more than we knew about the goings on at fratton park, and some of us questioned these signings from the outside. christ the ground only holds 20 thousand. should he have to ask where the money was coming from? probably not. but he knows how it works, hes spent his life in football but he didnt care....same as storrie and sasha....until the banks wanted their money back.

Things are as bad as when Gregory quit. SAF had no money, Al Mirage has no money. Is there another Milan out there to pick up the pieces? Better hope so or it's div2 for us

Oh there is a queue with their hands out & sooner or later we will drown in this mess. No dfoubt the 'powers' will have their safe raft to hand, whilst us die-hards who have been supporting the club for decades will be left with the fall-out. 2009 was awful, 2010 could be a lot worse. Time to start praying!!!

All managers negotiate wages, do not think otherwise. The rediculous wages offered by Pompey destroyed the myth "I came to play for good old Harry". Pompey failed to have a structured salary base relative to its income. It was just a frenzy fuelled madness instigated by three very incompetent people.

Blimey, how naive some of you are to think that HR didn't have some input into the salaries being dished out. PS and HR go way back to West ham and are still thick as thieves (Fruedian eh!) Gaydamak is as rotten as an egg.And still is! I also think PS hasn't been sacked because he hasn't signed a confidentiallity agreement, and has threatened to spill his guts to the press if he is pushed.

Mike, valid point about the confidentiality agreement. I am sure you read about Storrie having interviews with the Australian F.A. for a job, when supposedly raising funds for Pompeys cause.

007 can you imagine what a PS CV would look like. Lies, lies and more lies. He would have HR down as his first reference, SG as his 2nd, wouldn't he. I wonder if he claimed his travel expenses back from the Club while he was job hunting. What am I talking about of course he did!!!
