'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Milan return

Just about EVERYTHING else that could - and in many case could not or should not, or Christ knows how, have been 'rumoured' as happening has pretty much been laid to rest now following the 'links' with a return to Pompey of former owner Milan Mandaric...

'Apparently' there has been some 'speculation' linking, the now Leicester chairman, Milan with a return to Pompey, although he 'called BBC Radio Leicester's Football Forum on Monday' to 'quash' this talk: 'I'd like to reassure fans that I am loyal and am here to stay.

'I love my ex-supporters in Portsmouth but I did my job there and I finished my mission.

'I took the club to where they belong but I never said I would buy the club back and never said I would leave Leicester.'

Once his 'mission' is finished at Leicester he will move on but says he will remain loyal to the supporters at Leicester until that time and hopes that they are loyal to him.

Of course we cannot thank Milan enough for saving the club, which he did, although - and if perfectly honest - troubles started, well to be fair and I guess more accurately, continued under him, not that I am looking to blame him for our major troubles now, far from it! Spending beyond our means might have started under him but it got wildly out of hand under others!

Milan WOULD NOT have the funds to sort out our problems anyway, if he did he would not have moved on would he - he did this as he could no longer do what he felt was required to 'take us to another level', so quite how anyone could think that he could/would come back to sort things out now is beyond me...

Like I say, most other 'rumoured' avenues have been exhausted so I guess this was one that would come up at some point, right? Even though it is one of the least likely of any 'rumours' that have done the rounds!

well in all fairness, storrie did say he was looking for investors which i assume means part owners and so Milian would have the money for that, so its easy to jump to those conclusions for the papers and its a very easy story lol

New investors to pay this months and/or next months wage bill??? As for MM on a second coming, well you never know but I very much doubt it.

He jumped ship because he took us as far as he could and he couldn't afford to give us a new stadium. So he sold up and found a club that had just built a new ground but their stock was low - Leicester. Milan doesn't have the money to help us, he never did.

As far as I was concerned I thought it was just wishful thinking.

Another great piece of 'sitting at your desk' journalism.. Complete tosh

does take you back tho, to days when Pompey fans were given some sort of respect and information from the club

Well someone obviously thought it would make a story......tripe. I'm thinking we need someone with more bucks than MM. Although, having said that, the chances are his bank balance is probably healthier than two Arabs I know.....

MM did a lot for Pompey and got us back where we belong. He then had the honesty to say he hadn't the funds to take us to the next level. He sold to Gay on the (mis)understanding that he had the funds to further develop us.
