Man of the match against Liverpool

'Nadir Belhadj was the man of the match against Liverpool', not my vote, yours - although these findings from Pompey Fans' poll are thoughts that I do not necessarily agree with to be honest...

Yep, that is right eastneydave I am back to not agreeing with this poll :-) Last week was a one off...

To be fair Belhadj had a good game, and of course opened the scoring - his selection was a stroke of genius from Avram Grant as his speed was able to more than cope with the threat of former Pompey star Glen Johnson.

I see that he is again being 'linked' with Spurs today after this, funny that.

Ok, perhaps he will leave in the New Year - with Blackburn and Everton also 'said' to be interested, but think about it Nadir do you REALLY think that you will play anymore at Spurs than you will here?

The 'official' man of the match was Freddy P - again, like against Chelski before, I thought that he played well but would still disagree with that selection to be honest...

For me, much like sky sports awarded, Michael Brown was the main man.

As previously said, this is why I feel Brown 'should' have been the man of the match: 'It was as much what he did 'off the ball' as much as what he did on it. He organised the midfield very well and led by example, also instead of diving in all the time he pulled out of some challenges at the right moment, when perhaps in the past he might not have?

'Towards the end of Hart's reign I thought he went off the boil a bit, and at the start of Grant's this carried on, but it looked like he 'could' be back to his best for us - more showing like this and we will not go far wrong. To be fair he DID also offer us a good outlet coming forward, along with offering the defence a good shield.'

But, well done Belhadj - majority rules!

  • What the poll asked - Man of the match against Liverpool?

  • How you voted - Belhadj 27%, Begovic 26%, Ben-Haim 20%, Brown 12%, Piquionne (90) 11%, Boateng (89) 3%, Yebda 1%, O'Hara 0%, Kaboul 0%, Hreidarsson 0%, Finnan 0%, Sub - Mullins (89) 0%, Sub - Kanu (90) 0%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

everyone played well didnt they, one or two stood out 'alittle' more - but as i say i maintain my thoughts that brown was the top dog...

I thought it was a tough call to be honest, there were a lot of candidates for MOM - although I did vote Belhadj. As for him leaving, on the one hand I want to say if he wants to leave, let him, but if the embargo isn't lifted, then no players should be allowed to leave.

What a great goal he scored.

I was very pleased with the way our defense coped. Kaboul and Ben Haim had a very good game together. Unfortunately, I cannot see Wilson coming back to the side after that display unless someone from the back gets injured. For me, it was Ben Haim.

Brown, Piquionne, Belhadj, Ben Haim - in that order.

Belhadj is the most eyecatching player, I suppose, cos he runs so fast. He was certainly the player that caught my eye. GJ was certainly rendered ineffectual, and if that was down to Billy then he deserves man of the match.
