Storrie on 'possible' Aussie investment?

As we all know Peter Storrie is off mixing business with pleasure in Australia - I could do with some of their weather to cheer me up at the moment I tell ya...

Well, 'reports' have grown over the days that that investment is being sought from places such as Hong Kong, and of course Australia, with Storrie telling AAP that he is expecting answers 'within a very short period' regarding talks that have taken place with 'potential' investors.

He is quoted in The News as saying the following to AAP about this sought investment: 'I've been talking to a couple of parties on that.

'They're interim stages at the moment but obviously we've been talking to a couple of parties to see what interest there is.

'There's a lot of interest in Australian businesses in the Premier League ... a lot of people know me over here because I used to have soccer schools over here when I was with West Ham.'

Storrie says that he has just had a 'general discussion' with potential parties who 'have got all the financial information and all the documents that were needed,' so they are now 'studying those' before they come back to him within that 'very short period' of time mentioned with their decision.

He maintains that things are getting sorted at the club and the debt is being 'reduced all the time' so the club remains, so long as we stay in the premier league, a good investment: 'you can only base it on the new owners who have put a considerable amount of finance into the club to help reduce the debt.

'I think anyone investing in the club at the moment, it would be a good investment because the debt's being reduced all the time and as long as we can stay in the Premiership it'll be a good investment.'

Yep I know there are a fair amount of quotes to wade through from Storrie, although it was best to let him do the talking and then let people say what they think on this.

I guess I say, time will tell - although we cannot afford too much time! But it is apparently only a 'very short period' of time to wait on the outcome of what these talks will bring...

I cannot believe they sent Storrie half way across the world to find investors. Look what he came back with the last two times!

do not bring us a bunch of jokers that are 'meant' to be footballers but clearly are not - we have also been there, done that...

"As long as we can stay in the Premiership it'll be a good investment." Well that's not a very good selling gambit is it. If I was a potential investor I'd look at the league table, listen to PS's words and say 'thanks but no thanks'.

The legacy of Dr.F usless time wasting is panning out. At the least there is hope whereas there could be none.

what a joke i thought he found the investors to take us to the next level.

dont investors find u !! i think portsmouth has had enough publicity in the world the last 12 months for an investor to come forward if he wanted to invest money. its like hes gone begging for investment ! we got 2 weeks otherwise our season is over and our club is over coz if we get no one in january we are down.

Well PS having a few soccer schools in Oz is a good bedrock to encourage would be investors in PFC isn't it!!!!!!!! Oh and we are reducing the debt all the time!!!!!!!!!!! What I want to know is where are the billions The Fridge has according to PS. Also what contribution is SAF making, I am still waiting for the £50m he promised. Blah, Blah Blah.................?

All adds to the mayhem that is Pompey. As long as there is hope on the pitch we have some hope off it!!!

Well there might be some money here.. we are the only economy not up ***** creek..

The other thing PS mentioned at the Perth meeting the other night was interest from China. The aussie connection is apparently in Melbourne. I find it all a bit too vague to get enthusiastic about.
philrama
too many ifs and buts.

football these days is not worth investing in. We need to find someone who doesnt mind losing money and loves football.
