Reserves - Pompey 0-1 Exeter

Pompey played a behind closed door friendly today - where we were beaten by Exeter 1-0.

This game, played at our Eastleigh training ground, saw a couple of possible 1st team players turn out but most interestingly saw Eugen Bopp again included, but most intriguingly Onismor Bhasera.

Below is the match report, as issued on The Pompey Site by Johnny Moore...

Pompey Reserves 0 Exeter 1

A second-half goal by Exeter's Neil Saunders settled a behind-closed-doors reserve friendly at Pompey's training ground in Eastleigh.

Saunders volleyed past Antti Niemi on the hour to earn Exeter their win.

Pompey played some neat football but failed to trouble keeper Paul Jones until the 70th minute, when Paris Cowan-Hall, the Blues best player, saw his shot tipped away.

But for Niemi, however, Exeter might have been out or sight by that stage: the former Fulham goalkeeper twice had to save close-range efforts at the start of the second half.

Marlon Pack and Eugen Bopp both saw shots clear the bar as Pompey fought in vain for an equalizer.

Pompey: Niemi; Hurst, Bhasera, Ryan, Wilkinson; Bopp, Basinas, Pack, Nlundulu; Cowan-Hall, Subotic (Ciftci, 55)
