The penalty king should be...

'Jamie O'Hara should be the Pompey penalty taker', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I would not be against, but would not necessarily have him as my number one spot kick taker to be honest...

Yep, I do not think that O'Hara would be a bad penalty taker - far from it but someone that seems to have nerves, and balls, of steel is ideal for penalties, so I guess that makes The Herminator ideal, right?

He showed in Asia a couple of years back that he can take them and his strike against Burnley was that of a striker!

Even so, for me, I think I would go for Younes everyday of the week as I think if he just stood up and lashed the ball, as he often does with free kicks, he would not go far wrong.

Boateng has the confidence but I just do not think that he has the finishing ability to be a regular penalty taker, I would not be overly confident that he would score, I was not against Stoke and he missed, nor was I against Manyoo and he did - Dindane, well, enough said...

All in all I cannot really think of many alternatives in the current set-up though!

    Still think Kaboul is the man, all the best penalties go at 90 mph, he wants to take free-kicks, so why not pens?

    Younes got my vote, but I still think any professional footy player should be able to take a penalty FFS !! Particularly a striker - anyway please practice them regularly. Even that scummer Matt Le Cissier said it best "a penalty was the best opportunity I ever had to score". Come on lads step up to the spot and show us you've got a pair.

    I missed this one, but I would have voted for Hermann. Even since he rifled that one against Liverpool in the Asia Trophy, I've said he should be taking our spot kicks. Although if you could pick any Pompey player past or present to take a penalty, who would it be? I'd be torn between Macca and Unsworth. Yak, although never missed, never had me convinced.

    I voted for O'Hara, but yes both Kaboul and Hermann are good candidates. However, I still think Boateng will be taking them. I just hope that he is spending some time on how to take them in training!

    I voted for Herman as well, and it was because I remembered how well he took his penalty in the Asia cup. Herman loves scoring goals! As for past or present penalty taker - Kevin 'Dead Eye' Dillon everytime.

    i think any player should be able to take them, but KPB showed a bit of courage to step up after his previous miss so i wouldnt complain if it was him. remember a loy of YK's free kicks are erm how shall i put this..... not quite of the standard we would like them to be

    I missed this vote unfortunately, but had I been voting it would probably have been younes, he can certainy get that ball moving at a real clip, I guess they make these decision with the form of the training ground so maybe KPB is the right man for the job!
