'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nice idea but it is not possible!

Are the writers in The News of the World completely out of touch with the rules, or what?

Ok, on the face of it you see Pompey 'linked' with loan moves for Daniel Sturridge and Juliano Belletti and you think, ok then - so long as we have our transfer embargo lifted why not as both are decent players that could help us.

Putting aside the fact that until we sort out our situation where no one can be signed and that one from striker Sturridge and defender/midfielder Belletti, maybe both most likely would not want to come to us, it is not possible anyway!

Premier league rules prevent any club from signing 2 players on-loan from the same club don't they?

So, as BOTH play for Chelski it is a no go right off the bat!

Belletti is out of contract at the end of the season, so maybe The NOTW thinks that Avram Grant's 'contacts' at Chelski will allow them to do something with the 33-year-old on a 'nominal' or 'free' basis, which I doubt...

Either way, whatever we think - as said previously - until this embargo is lifted no one, not even free, on loan or a 'gift' will be coming to Fratton.

Rug, I think the rule is that you can't have more than two domestic loans in a season, so wouldn't want them both as that would mean O'Hara not coming back!

i know its 2 domestic loans, but is it not also limited to 1 from anyone club? that is what meant we couldnt get wright-phillips from chelski the other year wasnt it as we already had sahar...

hmm the article was a couple of days ago but i'm pretty sure it suggested we wanted to loan sturridge and buy Belletti..

oh also, SSN had an article yesterday with Miguel Victor saying he wouldn't mind come to us on loan, that'd be a better option anyway wouldn't it... lol
