What a miss he will be!

What a miss he will be!

When Younes Kaboul got booked the other night I started thinking 'he must be pretty close to 5 bookings this season,' and he is - in fact, according to The News, it was his 5th so he will now sit out Burnley this weekend...

Younes has arguably been our best player, at least consistency wise, this season and is most certainly the heartbeat of our back 4 - also arguably the best 'leader' I would say, so we will miss him big time!

We have a few options available, and with Steve Finnan back in training he could come back in at right back meaning that Tal Ben-Haim stays in them middle, as he was against Villa on Tuesday, to partner Marc Wilson?

That said Anthony Vanden Borre would probably stay at right back and Finnan on the bench, at best?

Then again we have Mike Williamson, who is still to make his Pompey debut, who could come into the middle and Ben-Haim goes back to the right, but I cannot see Avram Grant making this call, can you?

To be honest I would not mind seeing the guy, but do not think Grant will 'risk' this in such a 'must win' game...

So, I suspect that it will be The Herminator at left back again, Wilson and Ben-Haim in the middle and Vanden Borre at right back, right?

Either way the thing I know for sure is Younes will be sorely missed!

Give Williamson a chance, please. Ben-Haim is shocking.

How can we cope without Janice? Makes the task even more difficult.

I agree Whizz he (Ben HAim) was awful on Tuesday and honestly looked out of place in the middle.. as much as he does on the right !.. That said I think it should be Willaimson and Wilson with Hermann and Ben-Haim as full backs on Saturday .. my midfield would be O'Hara & The Prince and then Vanden Borre and Belhadj to give us some width (not need for holding midfielders v Burnley surely !!) so it's just a question of who we are gonna ask to lead the line and supply the goals.... Smith ? Utaka ? Kanu ? Dindane ? Piquionne ? what riches we have..

i dunno about herman at left back chix, he looked pretty bad against villa... but then who else is gonna play there, unless you have belhadj at left back and boateng at left mid... hmm maybe not. oh and also ya missed webber :P

Herman to play in the middle with Wilson. People seem to forget how good he actually is in that position. Hopefully Finnan will be fit but if not Ben-Haim at full back with either Vanden Borre or Belhadj filling in on either side.

Im with Bruce. Move Herman into the middle with Wilson and move Belhadj back to left back with either boateng, o'hara or even yebbda infron of him. On the right it can be finnan if fit or Haim with Vanden Borre in front and then yebbda inside.

i am glad that others agree with me, as i read someone about ben-haim 'having a very good game in the middle' and showing his 'true quality', i thought the only thing he showed was that he continues to be *****e!

I have to pose the question...is this not the time to bring in Williamson? What's wrong with the guy for FS? Got to agree with Chix on this one, about the need for holding midfielders against Burnley. Herman, although 'creeking' and TBH as backs with the width supplied by Belhadj and VDB. Attack and keep Burnley on the back foot. Simple!!!!

my cynical nature, which seems to be more and more cynical nowadays, is telling me that we have to pay a fee to watford if williamson starts or even plays - so we are reluctant to play him... cyncial, that is conspiracy theory talk isnt it :-)
