Plan for delays on Saturday

Someone, I cannot remember who - maybe Tony? - mentioned to me at the game last night that there would be 'disruptions' to some train lines this weekend.

This has now been confirmed by The Pompey Site with them issuing a warning to be prepared for this.

With the game kicking-off at 12.45 this makes these delays EVEN LESS welcome than they normally would be - I know 'engineering works' do have to happen, but why do they always have to do them at the most inappropriate times?

More info, as issued on The Pompey Site, can be found below...

Engineering Works On Saturday

Pompey and Burnley fans are warned that there are engineering works on the London Waterloo to Portsmouth line between Petersfield and Havant on Saturday.

Trains are being replaced with a bus service between Petersfield, Rowlands Castle and Havant.

Supporters who use that route are advised to allow extra time to get to Saturday's game at Fratton Park, which kicks off at 12.45pm.

A wag would say they won't miss anything!! But do National Rail ever plan these works with Local Authorities etc?

This is bound to have a knock-on effect on the roads - perhaps its time I gave the park and ride a try for once?
