James to return against Burnley?

David James was expected to be out until 'at least' the Sunderland game the weekend after next, although he 'might' give us a welcome boost of returning against Burnley in the 'must win' game this weekend?

Avram Grant has told The News that he is recovering 'quicker' than expected: 'David James' recovery is much quicker than we thought. At the beginning, we thought he would be out for four weeks but I think it will be less.'

Being fit 'much quicker' than expected can only mean he will be back for the weekend, right? If not, will he actually be back any quicker than expected?

Grant, whilst maybe not wanting to raise optimism too much ended by saying we will have to 'wait and see.'

In all honesty I think that it is what the defence does, along with what the 'strikers' do, this weekend that will make most difference, as opposed to having James back or not.

That said I must admit that I always feel happier when James is in goal to be honest...

When we are having problems scoring goals do we need to worry about our goalkeeper? Would give the defence extra confidence though.

We do need him back & after conceading 8 goals in 5 days, god do we need a clean sheet!

VW here - 8 goals in 5 days? Sounds horrible (sarcasm)

Can he play up front?

if only diarra, Muntari, Taylor, Defoe and Crouch were returning too!

My concern is he isn't coming back a bit too soon. Its great that he's always keen to play, but he doesn have a tendency to push himself and his injuries a bit. Perhaps it would be better if he missed this weekend and gave the injury just one more week? After all Big Begovic wasn't to blame for the 8 goals, and I have every confidence in him. Jamo may be worried he's going to lose his place, but it'll be more of a risk if the injury flares up again later - and won't do him any favours with Capello either.
