Can Grant save us?

If only it was as simple as relying on Grant to pull us out of this crap. From what I can see, he's a portly middle aged bloke and is only the manager after all. I think he is, and will be more tactically astute than Hart was, but he's not God is he. He's still got the same players to try and shuffle around. But he can shuffle all he wants, if there's chances but no end product, then it's curtains. I can think of teams in the distant past ie West Ham, who at times were bordering on playing exhibition football in Div 1, but couldn't put the ball in the net. Result..curtains. If we can't get to 10+ points by Christmas, we are stuffed in my opinion. As a Pompey fan, I won't believe it until the maths tell me, but if I put a neutral thinking cap on.....the writings on the wall. Still, as I've said before, it's football, anything can happen and just maybe there's a chance of getting David Vila on loan in January.

No he can't ! Hate to say it, but this just highlights the pathetic decision to cut PH free at this time. I've said it before, but Grant is not all that! Experience in Israel (not even equivalent to MLS in the US), PFC as Dir of Footy, and a nailed on Chelsea squad! If we get relegated, how many of you can see AG staying ?? Not me. PH was loyal and would probably have remained so. This was just a shallow move by our fantastic Board and owners to shift the blame. Unless they can guarantee AG around £30M in January then I don't see what difference he can make. With the financial fallout in Dubai then I can't see us getting much to spend. Remember the Mirage is a property geezer and even tho he is Saudi based you can bet your bottom shekel that his fingers along with SAFs will have been burnt in this fiasco! I know PH had his issues (tactics) but I'm sure AG will have his also! Too right, Burnley is a must win and if not then AG will collect flak straight away. PUP, I will be there supporting you in league and cup.....but only because my heart is ruling my head, as usual! This time last year I was setting off to Wolfsburg!!

It is time to give Piqiuonne and Dindane a break. We can play Smith and Utaka for sure. This season, the Nigerian looked very lively. Maybe he can inspire us to some wins before he departs to Angola! Well, Grant can save us, only if he shuffles the team around. There is no point to keep on playing the same system and with the same team...we have seen that this is not working enough!
