It is that time of year again!

It is that time of year again!

FA cup 3rd round weekend, one of the most magical days in the footballing calendar - well for me anyway, and I am sure I am not alone, right?

This, as it SHOULD be, will be early in January.

Occasionally they, the FA bigwigs, screw with things and this can take place before the turn of the year, but not this time round though as Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd will be the day that we will be playing our 3rd round tie.

The 'minnows' will be looking at us and think we are 'there for the taking', the 'giants' would also look at us and think 'we can do them', so all in all most teams would fancy their chances should they be drawn against Pompey - although, and as we know, the FA cup is a magical competition and ANYTHING is possible!

Dreams of returning to Wembley for the cup final will again be on my mind, as I am sure they will be others, before, during and after this draw, which will take place on Sunday afternoon on ITV after the afternoon 2nd round game, around 4pm I would suspect.

Our number in no.29, and I cannot wait for this draw!

Is there anyone in particular that you would like to draw, or anyone you would like to avoid? Perhaps you simply do not care so long as we are drawn at home; perhaps you prefer the away travel though?

An away trip could be fun as long as its to somewhere different and not too far away - no further than the midlands. Or at home to anyone except the so called "big 4" (or is it 3)?

at home to anyone, and i fancy our chances. except the big 4 (or is it 6, what with man city/totscum looking impressive...). Whoever we are up against, they'll view it as a good draw. which can only work in our favour... right?

Vital View - League 2, 14th January 2017

Doncaster retained a healthy lead at the top ahead of Plymouth and Carlisle. Cheltenham moved above Notts County with only Newport below them in the Football League now.

Video - Pompey 2-1 Leyton Orient

Conor Chaplin made up for missing a penalty - the third spot kick in a row I think we've missed isn't it? - with a brace as Pompey deservedly saw off Leyton Orient 2-1 at Fratton Park.
