No surprise, Grant IS in the running

No surprise, Grant IS in the running

Lets face it the 'suggestion' that Avram Grant WAS NOT in the running to become the next Pompey boss was preposterous - seemed liked a good time to use that word - really, right?

How could he NOT be in the running to take over?

So, it will come as 'little surprise' that sky sports 'sources' have 'confirmed' that Grant could be the man to replace Paul Hart.

How convenient it is that his work permit 'should' finally come through in the next couple of days...

Despite Darren Ferguson being 'hotly tipped' by the bookies and Alan Curbishley's name creeping up this list Grant is almost 'nailed on', as he was from the minute he arrived as our director of football, is he not, surely?

Also, there is some talk - despite the 'official statement' saying otherwise - that Hart COULD still take up the position that he was offered with the club, a position he was said to have declined?

To be honest could the guy really continue to work at the club where he has had to work with his hands tied behind his back, seen a guy brought in as the director of football that was always likely to replace him, been 'relieved of his duties' and now 'almost certainly will' be replaced by this director of football? I just cannot see it...

Personally i can't see anybody else in the running. AG will be the next manager. PH. Well I would like to think he would stay with us in a youth role but I think his pride will stop him from doing so. He was a anchor for us with all the takeover going on and really tried to get what we have as a team working. His tactical changes or lack of them cost him the job.

Doesn't matter who it is unless some money is made available. Curbishley is a big no no. Can Grant do the job without top class players? I'm not sure he can, he never got the credit he deserved at Chelsea but he's not got players of that quality available here. I'd love to see PH stay in some role but i'm not sure i could in his position. I feel very sorry for Paul Hart, he's turned a ragamuffin bunch into motivated team playing well but they've been continually punished for virtually every mistake anybody has made. Good luck in whatever you do Paul I'm sure you will do a great job somewhere when you don't have your hands tied behind your back.

Well, I think I'd be more surprised if he wasn't. Apparently he's come to Pompey with a salary close on £1mill so you'd expect something for that surely. I can't see anyone on the horizon that inspires me with much more confidence than Grant anyway. But can he get us out of the mire? your guess is as good as mine, but we're not sunk yet that's for sure. If the points gap stood at 8 I'd be pretty resigned to the drop. But at the moment it's 4. New manager, input in the Jan window and we could pull it off.

Its not hard to understand PH turning down the other role at the time they sacked him. All credit to him, that in the cold light of day he is prepared to consider it, and I hope he stays with the club. Rumour has it though that Droopy Dog is offering him a similar position at WHL. He just can't keep out of it, can he?

Like Leeds we mortgaged our future on an income we could not guarantee. We were never going to maintain a Premiership status with our small ground & non-existent traning facilities. It doesn't matter who the manger is if you do not sort out the infrastructure around the pitch we are doomed to relegation either this season of soon after.

Oh you can bet your life Redknob will snap up PH, he rates him highly. We just have no idea the damage these muppets who supposedly own us have done. I would keep Paul Hart at all costs at this club.If he goes to Spurs, with their inferstructure the mind boggles what he/they could achieve. What a mindless bunch of W4nkers own us, How the hell did they make their money in the first place?

Penton, if they made some money, we aren't seeing it. You forget HR is PS's mentor so lying comes naturally. Remember, what HR said i love Pompey I wouldn't do anything to harm them. He even had the audacity to say he helped us when he bought all our players as it put money in our bank. Well Sacha's pocket actually!

this club is an absolute joke, and is becoming more of a joke with each day that passes! we issue and 'official statement' saying that hart has rejected a job offer from us, yet less than 24-hours later we back track and say that he is actually considering this offer...
the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing - and these people 'run' our club, christ no wonder we are in so much trouble!
