Paul Hart moves on?

There is nothing 'official' on The Pompey Site but reports, originating from the BBC, 'claim' that Paul Hart has left Pompey...

BBC sport says: 'Portsmouth manager Paul Hart has left the club with immediate effect, BBC Sport understands.'

'If' this proves true then I will be genuinely sorry for the guy, although in my heart of hearts I think it was coming and is probably the right call. I am very surprised that we left it a couple of days after Stoke though...

Like I say I am sorry for him if true, and it has been a tough call but I think the writing was on the wall and from the looks of his face on Sunday after that defeat he knew it?

So, Avram Grant will be in charge for Manyoo then...

It is on the OS and says "Paul was offered the role of technical director, developing players from the ages of 18-21, but declined the position."

Been on the wall, Alan Mac on sky now, seems definite to me, who will take over? Not Avram either, I reckon someone is poised already
paultsmouth
Which is a shame because that was what he was good at and did care. However, someone else might bring better luck.
dedmans
Apparently Grant is NOT being lined up as manager. I wonder who is out there who will take us on? Coppell, Curbishly?
moley2
At last, at least the club can move on and play some more attacking football and and give the new boss time to put this right.
veccccio
so who is taking over then if not grant?
pompeyrug
How do you know that veccccio without knowing who the new manager is?
PFCblue
so maybe fergie jnr was being lined up last week afterall?
pompeyrug
Well, I guess we all knew it was coming. I do wish he'd have stayed on to work with the youngsters though. I guess it's watch this space for a bit then....
cornypomp
A new manager has to have time to bed in before the window opens in january to see what he needs. Sky and Pompey are saying its not Grant, Curb's is next favourite. And lets face it, Hart was not the most attack minded manager. So I can only assume we will score more goals with a new manager, we cant score less can we?
veccccio
Only time will tell - but WHO will score those extra goals? PUP
NorfolknBlue
But WHO will score those extra goals? Good point there NorfolknBlue. Whoever it is, still has the same players to utilise until the January window. We've still got a good team though that's underachieving, so maybe a manager and style change will pay dividends.
cornypomp
if we play with alittle more width then we will create more chances, if you create more chances you have more attempts and the law of averages suggests we will score more goals...
we have been doing ok, but we have been far too narrow - and that has not helped has it?
pompeyrug
Wait for Utaka! He will score the goals after 5-6 consecutive games. Along with Piquionne and Dindane.
veccccio
you do have serious faith in utaka mate...
pompeyrug
Well I had told the rest of the editorial staff I had been given this tip a couple of days ago if we lost at Stoke. Having said that it was not too hard to guess what would have happened.

In my opinion Harty had an impossible job given that he had to build a new team in three days with no money, any manager would have struggled in those circumstances. But Harty did not complain and tried his best and that is all you can ask of anyone.

Thanks for trying Paul and good luck.
eastneydave
Give him some games now he is approaching fitness........you will see, if he gets the chance. He does not work like benji, but he has quality. Him with Dindane will be cracking in my OPINION. Ferguson is favourite now. What a great appointment if the bookies are right. We should get some quality loan deals.
veccccio
Why are you guys being so nice about Hart? He was incompetent, tacticaly naive, stubborn and walking away from a club where he has been well paid for years. All football managers and coaches are mercenaries as HR proved. Lets not feel sorry for them. He probably feels he is good enough to walk into another job, well, maybe he can, along side Mokoena in Tesco dog neat isle.
veccccio
mixed emotions...did well with what he had..but why did'nt play Gekas?...wish him well, but we need a Harry type, a personality
plymouth graham
Tell me it's not Gareth Southgate please.
