So, SAF has again taken it upon himself today to talk about Amr Zaki and how much he wants him to play for Pompey, and 'apparently' how much Zaki wants to play for Pompey...

SAF says that it is 'up to' Paul Hart as he is the manager though. Although for me, as much as that 'should' be the case, I suspect that more depends on us having the funds available for this deal to happen as to how likely it would be.

I am not keen on Zaki for the reasons I fear he would 'rock the boat' and he will be 'unavailable during the African nations', so that is of no benefit for us - although if he really is that keen on playing for us, this would not be a bad thing, right?

And, with all the above in mind, my message to SAF would be quite a simple one: 'show us that £50m you have been promising and it could make a big difference!'

Basically 'dip your hand in your pocket flower'...

To be fair to the guy, whilst he has conducted himself like an idiot at times and has not always done as much to help us - on the face of it - as we would have wanted, has SAF actually done us anymore harm than anyone else at boardroom level?

Like I have said before, at least the guy, for all his faults and all that has gone on, is still attending games and 'seemingly' trying to do some good.

Maybe it is just 'wishful' or 'deluded' thinking, but has SAF been keeping his head down recently really looking to get things sorted so he actually can start to help us achieve things that people at the club keep saying they are going to? Could he EVEN come good afterall?

The best way to win people over would be to come up with this £50m 'gift' that you have said you would...

I have heard so much cr4p this year from so many people regarding my football club that I'm afraid only actions will suffice. When I know the training ground is being built, when I actually see a new stand being buily somewhere, when I see a new player siginng on the dotted line then I will beleive.

If we got zaki, I would view it as a major coup. Yes, he has had well documented problems, and could potentially upset our whole team. HOWEVER, he prooved in the first half of the season for wigan that he is a prolific goal scorer, can hold the ball up well, and was even touted as a player who could easily play for man u... If we want to stay up, we need to take gambles. A player of his quality would normally cost us well over 10million, so any price we get is pittance - if it works.

I don't think he's ever offered a '£50M gift'. Any money he puts into the club would be a loan surely, and I can't see it happening going by his previous record. PUP

Rug, why are we giving this bloke "airtime" he's just not worth it. He hasn't, and won't deliver. He said the embargo would be lifted by last Tues. or Wed., well guess what! There has to be more interesting things than this pratt to discuss.

(lol) Mike 1954.. slow news day (again) at Fratton.. I just can't believe that a player would ring SAF every day stating 'I love Portsmouth'.. I was going say that I bet he doesn't even know where Pompey is .. but then I remembered that he scored against us while with Wigan !

i guess basically chixy is right, slow news day - has been a fairly slow news week really and a struggle...

altho, what i would say is is his 'promises' any worse than those that storrie made about al faraj and the 'riches we would not believe' thoughts? were we not told by them that things would be sorted by the end of the week - and that was god knows how many weeks again...
yep, i know things do not happen overnight and 'fires had to be put out' but basically ALL the board are as bad as each other are they not so i feel it is unfair that he should take the blame for everything - i guess when all is said and done this is not his mess is it?

There is no follow up to the various SAF released statements, or for that matter those from PFC itself. This is the problem we all suffer, a complete lack of continuity reporting. This is why no one believes anything anymore, with good reason.

Well...as regards to Zaki, I'd have him. Just like the other malcontents.. We ain't in a position to be too choosy and if the guy can score goals grab him. Now...SAF.... Do you know, my minds gone blank. Maybe it's cos I'm all SAFFED out. Whatever!

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Pompey are becoming the latest 'real-life' board game for (so called) millionaires in place of Monopoly and such-like games.

The harm that SAF did was his procrastination during the summer transfer window, that kept the club frozen out of any transfer activity until it was, to all intents and purposes, too late. This also prevented the squad from having any meaningful pre-season and directly contributed to - no caused, our record-breaking seven straight defeats and our being bottom of the premier league. And causing our club to be a laughing stock. That's enough, surely?

When the PVA met SAF he did say he had been in discussions with Zaki and would ry and sign him. So at least he is being consistent.

Rug, SAF, AND all the others are a joke. I don't agree its not all his mess, as tracyc says he went into Tortise mode over the takeover which cocked up all the pre-season and transfers. He fiddled while Pompey burned. Even then he sold out to an owner who we have never seen or heard from. For a bloke who owns the Club the Fridge does nothing to shut this bloody great loose cannon up. I don't understand the sympathy for a con man who has run amok with our football club, and turned it into a Joke.

i cannot help but feel that saying 'he' has turned us into a joke is alittle unfair - it was not him that got us into the mess we were/are in was it?
the fact that he did not get us out of it was his fault, but i also cannot help but think that those 'welcoming' him to the club saw a guy they thought was going to be an 'easy target' that would not find out things, that i suspect he did...

Your assumption was correct rug. As for £50m Corny, pawn brokers comes to mind! By the way yesterday SAF was saying he wanted Zaki to sign, to-day Harty (Daily Mirror) says he doesn't want him. Good communication?
